+1 for the trench idea. We can always use a log to get back over later.

Give of those tough women a shovel and have them dig out a small hole near the fire. Line the bottom with leaves and place our food supply inside before night falls. Cover the top first with sticks, then leaves, and finally a layer of dirt. Lay a few of Rolf's bricks at the edges to protect it!

Send the idlers to help de-branch the trees with their hands, when they have been felled.
This also instead of using clay, and sand to make bricks use mud as it is far more efficient, and much faster than using clay, and sand. As for defenses we should begin digging a trench from the ocean all the way to the edge of our village, and connect them thus making a small moat. We can expand it as needed, and cross it with a simple branch bridge when needed this will give us quite a bit more protection, and should allow us to work through the night if need be. Finally we should also begin preparing some torches to help fend off animals as most animals are scared of fire.

Just to clarify do you want the trench to block off the path to the forest?
Yes, because we can use portable stick bridges, or logs to cross.

To that end, name the male Rex. As in, like a boat.

Vote NRDL's but dont build a wall, that would take to long, instead, Light the fire and have everyone get ready for a night, its gonna be a long one.

I'm planning to have night only go for 7 or 6 turns, just to make sure they spend more time working then cowering in fear/fighting/whatever they end up doing at night.

When I look at our little hut, I am not optimistic, and I hope to Picky's panties that we don't lose anyone over the night. Yet, somehow I get the funny feeling that some over-the-top Fun is about to happen...

In my opinion, we should just forget about the trench. It is going to take far too long, and I have my doubts that such a thin, shallow body of water will keep anything out. Instead of bringing the water to us, we should go to the water. It's certainly too late now, but provided that we can survive and scrounge up some rope-worthy material, I suggest we use a couple of the logs to build a floating hut offshore, tethered to a few high posts, with a raising bridge. There we could net Rolphins and and retire for the night in peace...

Yes.. lets make small fire pits around the shelter and distribute pointy sticks.
Plan nightly shifts, with at least two people staying awake at a time.

I'd like to have most of them have normal names and not Miner1, Miner2, Cheesemaker1 and Guywhokilledabirdthattime.
Alright. Puns everywhere?
