sounds like its time for you to learn the joys of wooden shields and silver maces. train em enough and they'll be fine.

well not fine, but the combat will be WAY more epic.

or, you know, you could go straight for the blue stuff...

Iron is easy enough to find. Use the site finder to search for locations with multiple shallow metals and high drainage and you'll have an 80% to 90% succes rate.

Just put your mechanic hat on.

Then you can worry about steel later.
