Just wanted to share this while the dwarves are busy with their designated chores

Spoiler:  SWO(rdthunders) (click to show/hide)

The brown squares are wood from the surface.  The letters are adamantine.  On the surface of Hell, outside the Throneroom.  How do you like THESE hell-grown strawberries, Mego?   8)

edit:  Oh, and here's a look at the finished first set of Hellvillas.

There are two, count that; two, that are empty at the moment (one of them obviously being the one lacking most of it's furnishings), so here's how to decide who gets one of them. (the other is going to the dwarf that survives getting the water from the lake into the Hellbeach).

I want a good, funny name for the beach, or the lake beside the villas.  The one that makes me chuckle the most gets their dwarf a shiny new stone lakeside villa.  As the two that are empty are the ones on the corner, you even get to pick if you want the one facing the lake or not.  If you don't have a dwarf, there's still six generically-named dwarves in the fortress.

You all turned Swordthunders into a bastion of madness that seems to warp in on itself under its own hatred of sanity.  I'm so happy!

Ladies and Gentledwarves;

Water's still settling, but it should rest right around the depth I was hoping for - 3/7 on the upper layer so dwarves can learn to swim.

edit:  As for the contest I gotta give it to Karakzon.  "Armok's Beach of Sunshine" made me laugh.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Oh and Loud Whispers?  Your dwarf managed to open the door sealing off the water AND make it to safety, so he gets a villa, but Karakzon gets to pick first.

Las Psalmas. Insult hell with some religion while we're at it.

I like it, but still gotta go with Karakzon's as it has a touch of the good ol' dwarven naming convention of silly names for insane creations. like The Hidden Fun Stuff for Hell, etc.

I have to concur - I took the time to re-title your dwarf.  She's now the Lord of Doors.

I would sig that if it didn't look so out of context ;P

Well, so far today I've made a beach in Hell, built half an 'R' out of adamantine, and I'm still building more high-end real estate in Hell so that my dwarves can live in happy subterranea luxury for the rest of their days.  There's a goblin siege on the doorstep, but I'm half-convinced they're tourists on holiday that don't understand Hellopolis is a PRIVATE resort.  Doren's been dispatched to act as doordwarf and shoo them away.
