Actual Cannibals?
« on: February 25, 2013, 02:37:09 am »

I've modded my dwarves to accept butchering sapients, but they still won't butcher each other. Any way to fix this?

Not sure you can in fort mode, but if so then you need to change KILL_ENTITY_MEMBER, MAKE_TROPHY_SAME_RACE, EAT_SAPIENT_OTHER , EAT_SAPIENT_KILL. I think.

MAKE_TROPHY_SAME_RACE isnt needed, but really if you kill one of your same race wouldnt you like to craft stuff out of thier bones? A dwarven skull mug would be neat.

I don't want them to kill each other, though. Just eat each other.

Fair enough, wont that make some of the unhappy though? I mean they appear to be unhappy unless you bury them.

You can use slabs.

Also, it seems that even if you play a race that accepts eating sapients, you can't butcher them in adventure mode unless you're starving. WTF?

Ethics seems to be wonky in adventure mode, perhaps they only work in the generated history. I once modded a game where the civ allowed for killing each other and assaults, yet everyone still turned hostile when I tested it out.

IIRC You can't butcher sentients in adventure mode no matter what the game says, the message about not being hungry enough is just a placeholder for "not letting you do that".

ADV. Mode you have different ethics,
Fortress Mode it's impossible to eat own members due to them being a part of your civ, which instead generates ghosts if not buried or slabbed.

It does not work in fort mode, because they are civ members. If you added a second dwarven civ (for trading/sieging), kill them, butcher them, eat them, thats fine. But dwarves wont touch anything thats a civ member.

okay so we need to make a script that bumps the hunger to starving to trick the game to allow access to butchering any one.

Does it work or not? I wonder.

Well, that's stupid. Someone should ask the Almighty Toad about that.

Pretty sure you can have a creature drop a certain item on death. Just have all dwarves drop a food item called "dwarf meat".
