You can play as a... fruit bat? Why? D: A "somewhat vampiric" fruit bat at that...

Am I interpreting this right that you can be a fruit bat regardless of race?

This...this takes place in a world where people are people, but people are sometimes bloodthirsty fruit bats?

Batty Characters are...weird. Any race/class combo can be batty, and will move faster at the cost of lack of some gear slots.

Anyways, my Maiar Rogue is up to level 9, Maia level so slow...being able to fire lasers with a rogue is definitely nice, saved me from more than a few shamans. Having a lot of fun with this character.

EDIT: Everyone can laugh at Repulet. His ghost was murdered by a bear.

I know, it's awesome!

Went deep down into the Burrows-Down, (One level before the Maia monsters appear) and got a ton of nice stuff, and now can cast my Astral Blast to brutally injure everything nearby the target, which is awesome! I also got my ring of Fear Resist, just need Confuse Resist before I can manage to fight the Maia guys and determine my blood-type. :)

The house has one inventory slot left, out of two, if someone needs to store something. Inscribe it with your name though!

Yeah, the Official one is the one everyone is on :)

EDIT:
Holy cow Maiar need almost 400% more XP for every level up than humans do.
No wonder this goes so slow!

So mad, my last Maiar died...Spectral Bear came through a wall and started mauling me, and I forgot to save my macros before I last logged off (Phase Door + Recall + Sprint is very nice for HOLY COW HELP ME! buttons)

Then while I was waiting for a person to come revive me (I had a couple semi-rare rings that are basically necessary to fight the Maiar candlebearers/darklings), the Spectral Bear thingie murdered my ghost. Very sad.

Anyone else still playing this?
Orc Caves is pretty nice when you can survive there, three levels in and I found:
-Small Leather Shield of the Avari {+,16} [15%,+8] (+2)
-a Lance of *Slay Orc* (4d8) (+6,+12) (+2)
-a Device Trap of Extra Shots {+,16} (+19,+5)

The shield alone is worth 32k AU in the shop :D

Yes, actually. It is consuming much of my time. It takes some getting used and it is more grindy than the single-player by-turn roguelikes (simply because those can be more punishing because you have as much time as you possibly want to plan your next move).

Despite my deaths I keep going back to it.
