A joke is only good if it doesn't run on and it isn't lost on the audience. Make a comic too short and the references and information becomes too insider, and it gets lost. Make it too long, and *YAWN*

Red Jackard's thread-destroying comic wasn't as good as the original because the text explaining the jobs and expression of anger with the red eyes are tied together, eliminating the link between Cause (Dwarf is angry about the job skills of the new Migrants) and effect (angry dwarf kills useless migrants by water)

As it is, he can be seen by some as being already angry, as I saw it in Red Jackard's.

Of course I am not some fancy "comic critic." I usually disagree with any art critic. Music critics too. I've been told one of the spookiest songs I have ever heard is supposed to be upbeat and cheerful. I still find it creepy and unsettling any time I hear it. (Air on the G String. An adaptation of Johann Sebastian Bach's famous Air by August Wilhelmj)

It's not the critics that decide what I watch, read, or listen to though. It's only me.

Excellent work!
When I saw the FPS: 2, I thought at first it was a '2 months later' which made me crack up all the harder.

I'm amazed:  It's a DF comic that doesn't suck, and is even funny!  Congratulations.  Your art is good.</STRONG>

Actually, I DO know what I say.  And Red, I wasn't necessarily suggesting adding another frame, I was just suggesting adding something to make the causal relationship make sense.

God damn, note to self: Don't give advice on these forums or idiots will jump out and call you nuts.  Fuck.

Yeah, I gotcha. Just figured that for the DF crowd, they already know how the dwarves got there.

Also agree that the level of zealotry on this forum is pretty heavy, but it is the official one... not much else to expect.

The migrants one os ok... but in my opinion a bit on the long side.

The new cats one is brilliant though! Great job.

Request:

Elven trader talking to broker. Can see entrance to depot, but not the goods inside.
Frame 1:
Same greeting they give you in-game. Broker standing next to a wooden bin.
Frame 2:
"We managed to scrap together a bin of those stone mugs you love for you."
Frame 3:
Pointing at wooden bin. "Oh My God! What have you done to that poor tree? We cannot tolerate you barbarians!"
Frame 4:
Inside the Depot. Elves packing up their dozens of wooden bins to leave. Grumbling about killing trees. Wooden Wagons. Guards wearing wooden armor carrying wooden weapons. Piles of wooden goods.

Always found that ironic.

Request:
Red Jackard goes back to first page, presses "Edit Message" on his second message, turns image into a link rather then a thread-destroying image

Fishersalwaysdie goes back to his quote of Red Jackard, unquotes Red Jackard's image.

And Volla, the message is readable for those of us who don't appear to have as high resolutions as Red Jackard or Fishersalwaysdie
