Okay, I had a training room, but only 1 dwarf trained in there and maybe gained 3 points in something.  Other than that, it was just regular dwarven vs dragon action.  Out of 7 dwarves, 3 died.  Hell yeah.  Those brave warriors deserve a holiday in there name.

That's nice, but what does any of that have to do with the wiki?

P.S. If you don't get this note, let me know and I'll write you another.
It's amazing how dwarves can make a stack of bones completely waterproof and magmaproof.
It's amazing how they can make an entire floodgate out of the bones of 2 cats.

I'm sorry, I thought this was regular df discussion.  My bad.  I;ll try to mark this thread for deletion.

This section has nothing to do with the wiki and you can discuss your game in fortress mode. Every other damn thread is ignoring excessive derailment, ignore him.

Yes, kudos to your dwarves for their dragon slaying prowess.

Dragons are not that tough. Wait for Colossus.

thistleknot had originally posted this in the "DF Wiki Discussion" section -- the mods then moved it here to the "DF Dwarf Mode Discussion" forum after Quietust posted about it being in the wrong place... it's all good.

thistleknot: awesome-sauce! I've never fought a dragon before.  Could you post your combat logs from the encounter? (Now I'm trying to remember if there's an easy way to do that.. I'll have to go look and see if the detailed combat logs are stored in a file or not...)  I love reading combat logs for some reason.  :P

What year was it?  If it's year 1,000+ then your dragon is fully grown.  If worldgen stopped before year 1,000 then the dragon is a juvenile and is NOT full size.  Killing a dragon in year 2 isn't impressive, as I think it's comparable size to a buffalo.  I'd have to re-check the size tokens, but a young dragon isn't very huge.

Many a df player would pay good dwarfbucks for this embark.

They would also throw good dwarfbucks at small animals until they are beaten to death, so don't get cocky.

Actually I moved the thread over.  There's a move topic button at the bottom left.

Also, I would love to look at past announcements/combat logs.  Yet I have no idea how to.  I have multiple save points in my game.  However.  Anytime I load it up, I don't see any current combat reports (or is that announcements).  Update: gamelog.txt, same dir as dwarffortress.exe

BTW, it was game year 56.  :(  Guess my dragon wasn't as bad ass as I had hoped for.

I got the combat log, but it's more than 40k characters.  Unless I can figure out a 3rd party host.  I could probably save it and upload it to megaupload.

Next time you can just take a picture of your screen using the "PrintScreen" button on your keyboard, near the top right. You can just upload those to imageshack.us, and then post them here in these tags [ spoiler] [/spoiler]

I'm sure you mean the highlights.

And as I said earlier.  I never had the screenshots.  I wasn't looking in the reports.  I pulled all these from gamelog.txt

Mmm... Will the forum let you post them in a
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
thing? That way you don't have to go through megaupload to view it.
