Duration of sieges?

So a second goblin siege force arrived, with double the goblins and a unit of trolls in tow. I decided to go into lockdown mode, it's been 2 months or so and they are still milling about outside my gates.

How long do sieges generally camp outside a fortress?

As well, if another invader that isn't of the same race comes, say humans, elves, titans or megabeasts, will they engage the goblin forces besieging me?

They can stay for a whole year, until next siege arrives. But usually will leave in summer.
Better deal with them.
