I'm having trouble finding the rift...

Go to the lone tree in front of that one human village that gets burned down by a dragon in a cutscene. Stand on the tile to the left of it. Then walk NNSSWEWE and press B then A. That starts a hidden dialogue. Reply with "xyzzy" and everything else should be obvious enough for you to get to that point.

I heard that it won't happen if you slay a certain number of enemies. Or allies for that matter. Anything really. Those kills will satisfy the lust for blood your armor feels after becoming autonomous and even gives you extra boni to defense and attack.

Dunno if it's true though since I never got past the first dungeon anyway :V

You have to get the fell mood axe. Once you do, you have to kill 5 of your companions. After that, the armour is safe.

I had a dwarf with strength score high enough to hold it back, by wearing it. I then proceeded to sacrifice them both.

A nasty surprise that was, the first time around.

Don't forget by plating your adamantine armour in cavy blood, bone and copper, you can avoid them becoming sentient war machines. Must be something in the raws, because the amour counts as a trade sponge at that point, and doesn't start killing everydwarf.

You have to have a dwarf with legendary cheese making skill for each piece of the armor, one for helm, one for breastplate etc. Line them up in alphabetical order of the equipment, and have them wear nothing but the armor. This turns them all into MEGA-Dwarves, as everyone knows only true dwarves make cheese.

how do i defeat the boss in the crystal dungeon?
i've tryed using the light scepter on the healing stones of the boss as the bard told me in the tavern but it seems to do nothing.
did i have to bring the mage that is on the entrance of the dungeon whit me?

Just run. Run and don't look back. Or you could try hauling a ballista (press x and i at the same time) and fire the lighted lignite bolts you found in the 9th cavern layer, fire clears the dust, as well as (hopefully) the devils ^_^

I can't seem to get past the fourth wall though, it seems anti-climatic after the whole get-to-the-choppah cutscene.
I've tried everything, booze charges, digging even magma. No dice.

I'm stuck, I went into the Cave of Blood, Armok stripped me of my stuff and threw me into a newly genned world and now I need to kill the Four Kings to get the Armour of Heroes. But I only have my hands and skin, whereas they have a full slade armament!

That's a beginner's trap. This whole event is actually in your head, a coma induced by the horrors you have undoubtably seen. If you have a low Liar skill, you won't believe it is the real world and you can wake up, hopefully not dismembered by the Kobold Legion. If you are a master Liar, however, you might as well just re-install the game now, because you will always be able to convince yourself you are really asleep.

Actually you can get out, if you manage to kill the four kings and retrieve the armor of heroes you will enter a battle with Armok. If you still have the crown of god-slaying from the third kings secret stash, you should be able to weaken him and drive him off.

You'll wake up with some of the best armor and weapons in the game, the only problem is every single dwarf in the game will attack you on sight.

No, just the ring from his left ring-finger. And His only tooth. You need to combine the two, and have the boss eat it. It will probably be easiest to sacrifice an ally for that, by having him wear the combination. The ally needs to be eaten within two minutes after wearing, since after that he'll blow up and cave the dungeon in, if not contained.
