Just seize them from the elves.
They might even bring nice animals next year.

Not a bad idea. I read that they have something called "feather wood" which weights nothing at all. I'm trying it out in the arena and, by lord, it is completely uneffective. Naked dwarves whailing on eachother and only causing bruises ... even when they stab with spears!

Yeah, I'm currently in a Good biome so I murder all the elven Featherwood trees and make them into soft pokey things.

Impossible in 31.25.

Orly? I see here a feather tree.
The world's from 31.19 though, if that means anything.

I've had feather trees in this embark since the beginning. I refrain from cutting them because they don't seem to regrow though.

Current fort is fucked. The captain of the guard has been training the military so long (named-artifact adamantine halberd to boot) will eviscerate any wrongdoers should they resist arrest in any way. I have a jail but if something, anything pisses someone off and they punch something, break something or resist arrest for mandate fails (it happens) the captain will lay down the murder. His strength is close to 7000 now, he is a murder machine.

However, one of my Dwarves recently made an artifact bone mace. Would this be a suitable weapon for the captain of the guard?

For anyone still wondering, the answer is "no" since, upon delivering a punishment beating to my militia captain, the CotG killed him with one swift blow to the head. Guards have now been assigned training spears, (since I had a surplus).

How do the wooden weapons traded by the Elves stack up against training weapons? Are they pretty much the same, or are they actually capable of causing damage?

The sword was no quality the sea serpent was air drowning my elf was superelfish in Strength, Agility and Toughness all other was normal

You were planning to have a 15 year old magical girl kill Witches by drinking them under the table!? It's original, at least.

I gave my captain a Exceptional Candy Mace. It's the same guy as the Chief Medical Dwarf, and he seems to enjoy keeping himself busy! Doesn't stop until his victim is all yellow and brown.

This is awesome.
