If we can modify the moves, we might also be able to get it to cause the enemy pokemon team to lose a lot of speed.
We could probably give it a special ability that auto-paralyzes+slows when it hits, at least.

Or we could have a weather effect called "lag" and associate it with the pokemon.

Oh god yes.

EVERYONE gets paralyzed except electric types. :P

Well, I'm willing to help come up with ideas. Not so much actually do any hacking since I don't know shit about coding but you'll have my help.

The Professor Oak of this game has to be a crazy drunken hobo. It would explain the Professor Oak memes.

So a dwarf, then :P

What about the starter Mon's? Part of me is enamored of the idea that the three starters should represent DF's three modes- Fort, Adventure, and Legends. Fort would be Fire and loosely follow the timeline of Boatmurdered.

Right, since this is going to be a collaborative project and all, how are we going to share this? Is everybody just going to PM me (or somebody else) links, or should we set up a GitHub project? Or perhaps something else?

I've also found a place to download a ROM of Pokemon FireRed. Unless somebody objects, I'll be downloading it right now.

I'd say they should be based on the three legendary enemies:

Elephants and Carp and Unicorns.

Also, I vote for github.

All the pokemon should remain exactly the same, except with beards.

Also, is anyone actually volunteering to do the hacking on this?

Kinseti, I'm hoping the hacking will be a team effort. I'll definitely be working on it, though.

Also, we are dwarves, let's move beyond fire/water/grass!

Starters should be fire/rock, water/poison, and dark/steel.

Boatborn : An stone elephant-like creature with flaming eyes.
Evolutions: Boatblasted -> Boatmurdered

Carp: A mutant fish that has been twisted by pollution.
Evolutions: Recarp (zombie carp, oh god) -> Necrowhale (zombie whale) (This tree comes from being exposed to a necrostone)
                Megacarp -> Forgotten Beast

And the last one is obviously a Unicorn of dark/steel type. Which fits, I think. ;)

Trainer types should include the following:

Urist: sprite is a dwarf. generally use ground, steel, rock types. all their names begin with Mc (ex Urist McFisher)

Elf: the bad guys of the setting. use psychic, dark, grass and bug types. are planning to prevent all deforestation and mistreatment of plants. should be a thinly veiled PETA parody

Demons: use psychic, dark, and ghost types. thay all look like either MISSINGNO or &



and can we somehow include a dark type gym for once?

Clearly there should be a Cavern Badge, where the trainers use dark themed cavern critters.

Cacame is the champ

Elite 4 contains Toady one and Threetoe (double battle?). possibly other indy devs. we use the whole elite 4 section to break the 4th wall.
