Is Festo not the most amazing company?

So beautiful
In so many ways
The engineering... the way it moves...
Maybe not practical, really
But amazingly beautiful

I mean, I'm happy with my shark blimp, flapping his tail around, but this - this is something I would love to have the opportunity to fly.

Does it have a purpose besides being insanely awesome?

The purpose is probably experimental - Festo is one of the industry leaders for pneumatics. Their underwater variants are pretty impressive as well.

But really, we know the true purpose is to eventually recreate the mega-man world in real life. :P

... which mega-man world, though? Baseline, X, or that Zero stuff on the GBA? The latter two (well, all of them, really...) end up pretty shitty for us fleshbagss. iirc.

One of the top comments is to send it to fly over an uncontacted tribe, a trolling measure of epic proportions which I fully support.

Of course, if you removed the company logo and flew this thing over a major first-world city people would probably still panic.

Conversely, if aliens painted a logo on their spaceship they could park it in the middle of Central Park and nobody would even look at it twice. Well, maybe the cops would arrest them for camping.

The true purpose is obviously to recreate Morrowind. Damn Netches.

Anyone seen their Cliffracer prototype videos?

Dear God, the robots can box, act as archers, and ride horses....
Now, they can f*cking fly around and use... tentacles...large..pusating tentacles....

They already have original SIN!!!
We must ‼PURGE‼ the robots in an epic crusade...before they purge us!

Huh?
Key component of megaman world: Replacing real life animals with machine equivalents. Robo-jellyfish, RC sharks, electronic birds, powered manta rays... You of all people should be able to picture it :P
