They might have fixed that. It may have happened 3-5 times in my whole playthrough. I really have no idea what triggers it.
I think it's when you find a station or a ship you never seen before - Betty will say "Object information added to computer database", and Yisha might lose her mind.

And I don't really understand what's wrong with Yisha's clothes, I saw lots of mods to change it and people commenting on it. Specially since every female on the game are ugly or weird, and they are either bald or have "male hair" (actually, everyone has the same haircut except for a few characters). Plus, there's no "revealing" clothes at all in any characters - not even arms are "revealed" so I really don't think they did anything wrong at all.
EDIT: They MIGHT have changed her clothes, or it might be that my graphics are too low for it to become an issue. Looking at a few older/higher graphics screenshots, I can understand it being an issue.
I felt way more offended back on X2 when they had that character named Ban Danna. I will never get over it - and it's been 10 years already!

I forgot to link my celebratory screenshots, with my incredible 2 Taranis 1 Titurel fleet (at least they have full 5 star crew, which make them actually useful with the 'Miscellaneous IZ Tweaks' mod).

It honestly feels like a lot of their problems came from the fact that their entire team was composed of cats, and the people who were supposed to be herding them were also cats.

Why hasn't someone firebombed the corporate HQ yet for making this horrible game?

X3: TC/AP is a great game. I love it. Why hasn't someone killed them all for making the abomination?

Not ot mention their HQ is already on fire because Rebirth sold like shit and thye work their asses off to fix it.
They could have said. "Oh well we're done now" take the money and leave but instead they stand by their creation and fix it however they can.

Because vengeance never accomplishes anything? Kill them all and there's nobody to even try to make the X4 we all want, or bring Rebirth into a playable state.

Plus, you'd go to jail.

so a studio that made a game you like made another game you dont like.
yes, a very good reason to litter the internet with random death threads indeed.

and, btw, if they wanted the same game they had already, they could just have not made any new game. cuse... they had that other game already. that game you like... and that, btw, will continue to work fine, even if your dissapointed wishes now make you hate the devs like a child may hate santa claus who to dared not bring the toy it whished for.

What state is the game in now?  Have the Patches improved it much?

Then again, I consider Infinity to be overly ambitious, something that might easily spell it's downfall.

From what I have read on reddit recently, it has gone from horrible and unplayable to merely unbearable and playable with mods.

A huge improvement, tbh. I couldn't get past the beginning tutorial mission where they fix up the Skunk initially, due to lag/instability/bugs. Now I can set up factories in DeVries and actually play a bit. I feel once Egosoft or the modders put in actual competing traders and bandit raids/attacks, the game will feel that much more alive.

Ah yes, the insatiable lust of corn and rice, clearly two of the most erotic foods.

I'm not sure I would classify "I can now complete the tutorial!" as a huge improvement.

I might give it another try but I really need a mod to simply delete the copilot. I can't stand her.

And mute the voice acting...

Picked X Rebirth up 75% off in a Steam sale. Been playing the 4.0 beta update.

It's actually a pretty decent game now. I haven't encountered any game breaking bugs and very few bugs at all (one of the escort missions had my escort trying to path through a station, which was a bit annoying, but it eventually bounced off the station enough that it got past it).

Plot isn't the most interesting thing ever, but it was enjoyable. Played through the whole thing with no issues. Free play after it was over is also enjoyable. Trying out trading and station building now (before I was all combat), although I'm having some issues trying to find reinforced plates to build my station since it seems they removed the magic spawning trade ships full of goods and the economy actually has to produce stuff now, and in Omicron Lyrae where I'm trying to build all the stations are sold out (and Plutarch hates me in Albion so trading there is difficult).

Disabling and capturing capital ships is fun, and a bit too profitable (almost feels exploity compared to trade). Using long range Novadrones (missiles that you guide like a drone) to take out large turret emplacements, then flying in and taking out the engines and jump drive. Then stripping the rest of the guns on the side you're on and sending in the marines. Using this method I was able to capture large warships that would have cut me and my small fleet to pieces if I had tried a more direct approach. Although there is risk involved in boarding. I lost my entire trained marine crew and marine officer when a friendly warship jumped in beside me while I was capturing an enemy warship - sadly there isn't a "Wait, this ship is disabled and my crew is 30 seconds from capturing it" command that you can send them - they just see enemy and blow it to hell.

Really I guess the main gripe I have is with the smalltalk system being horribly boring and extremely repetitive if you have to do it at every single station and every time you want to hire someone, but with the two mods I'm using I don't have to small talk at all unless I want discounts. Show Skills mod simply shows you the skills of everyone you ask instead of ? marks. And there are a bunch of different trade agents mods. They have them that let you buy a trade agent and others that simply give you trade agents. One series of mods by a German guy even gives you trade agents everywhere automatically.

Here's the trailer for the 4.0 and the Home of Light expasion. They released both on my birthday :').
First thing I think is "Wait, wasn't Terracorp stuck on the original Argon sectors, so why are they here now? Their HQ is located in *realizes*  Home..of...Light."
Derp. I haven't played it yet, but now I think I know where that SETA and Jump Drive are coming from.

I'm a bit scared to go back to my previous save game. Unlike X3 which I played for years and I can jump back to at anytime, I very much rushed X:R so I have absolutely no idea about how to play anymore, how to use the UI or how to control the ship..and I feel that if I load my save, I'll receive 500 messages from new content while my ships explode. I might have to play on a new game to remember it all.

Like Paul I used to hunt ships for sport and I think my whole fleet is comprised of stolen ships of all kinds. I remember taking a loooong time to capture the awesome Fulmekron (or some other kron) only for it to be destroyed by my own ships after capture..so I just gave up.
I even tried to take the "secret" absurdly insane Xenon capital ship, only to realize you couldn't capture it without mods. It was so OP that I felt it was cheating for me to have it, but just fighting it and flying near it felt epic for some reason.

A lot of people are still skeptical. But to be honest, with 10+ mods I had back on 3.53 (or whatever patch came when the Teladi Outpost was released), most of my issues were addressed and it was a fun game. Wasn't the great X3:AP with all the mods, but there was a good amount of fun to be had.
I stopped playing because once you started to actually build an empire or do crazy stuff like exploding huge stations, the game wouldn't behave well or would take way too much time. I think it might be doable now, but I'm still a little disappointed that they might not have improved how trading works. Might still be completely boringly manual.
I had to use mods to make trading bearable and automated back then, and it might still be the case. Same for mining fleets, I think.

I also just used mods to remove or minimize the silly parts of the game after I was nearing the end - like removing small talk and minigames, and being able to buy trade agents. It was literally harming me psychologically.
I remember finding it funny and cool (for being different than previous X) at first, but playing vanilla all the way will definitely make you insane.

Total praise for the modders of this series of games must be given. Back when I played on 3.53, it turned the game from a "Meh..this had so much potential...." into "Hmm..there's fun to be had. Hope the devs improve it". I'm pretty sure a ton of stuff I used to use mods are now vanilla, like the BBS, better economy information and better group commands / fleet management.

EDIT: As I'm almost asleep, I completely forgotten a lot of posts on the last pages of this thread is mine, so all the background info I gave on my previous experience was probably to be found in this same page.   ::)
