A fad is sort of like a meme, or a trend.

Other than that, I wholeheartedly approve of your version. Good work!  :D

Got the 4 lines for the bridge that I missed -

"They approached the gates, yelling their cries
As the summons rang out for defenders to rise
But of all of the sounds heard from barrack and post
It's the deafening snore that was audible most."

Might have to alter the "charged at the gates" line, so as to avoid repeating.

edit: since the text is more or less complete, I guess it belongs in its own thread.

Just for the heck of it

Urist Ironblood waited. The torches above him flickered and burnt out of the air. There were demons in the fortress. He didn't see them, but had expected them now for years. His warnings to Thikut Idikal were not listenend to and now it was too late. Far too late for now, anyway.
Urist was a Axe Dwarf for fourteen years. When he was young he watched the wagons and he said to dad "I want to be on the wagons daddy."
Dad said "No! You will BE KILL BY DEMONS"
There was a time when he believed him. Then as he got oldered he stopped. But now in the dwarf fortress of the dwarves he knew there were demons.
"This is Thikut Idikal" the yelling dwarf yelled. "You must fight the demons!"
So Urist gotted his gabbro cabined and mined down the wall.
"HE GOING TO KILL US" said the demons
"I will shoot at him" said the spirit of fire and he fired the fireballs. Urist hitted at him and tried to mine him down. But then the ceiling fell and they were trapped and not able to kill.
"No! I must kill the demons" he shouted
The Dwarf said "No, Urist. You are the demons"
And then Urist was a zombie.
