You should try cavity masking as an easy way to introduce some detail to those solid colors.

That elf has ears so pointy, you could skewer a goblin on them.

They wear specially grown razors (sung, of course) into battle. Affixed to the ears with light fabric straps, even an elf's ears can become a weapon.

Yes : I made everything out of wood, since the elves of DF like making everything out of wood and have no industry. I added some cloths... Typically, elves use gray cloth, but I wanted more colors.

I want to try and play as elves in DF, a bit later
