Suspended in the centre of the Void Sea is the city of wizards. The central tower reaches up to the very point where reality was ripped asunder in the great cataclysm. The college of mages publicly maintains that the city was founded to study the aftereffects of the cataclysm and the unpredictable magical phenomena they cause. Of course, this is frequently critiqued as an inadequate explanation for the enormous resources spent maintaining the city, and rumours of its true purpose run rampant. The presence of the cult of the Divine Unveiling does nothing to dissuade suspicion. The cult, who believe the cataclysm to be an invitation to cast down the false gods and attain the next stage of existence, actually makes up the majority of the city's population. The mages themselves tend to view the cult as an ignorant superstition. They tolerate the cultists because of the services and the connection to the outside world they bring to the city.
