I used to own a slingshot like this. I wasn't allowed to fire it, though.
My dad has one like that, too. I was never allowed to fire it either.

Once, my dad bought me one. We were in South Africa, on a road trip across the land. We stopped by some two waterfalls, we climbed on a rock, took our slings, and fired pebbles at the waterfall. For some reason. But it was fun. Oh, the nostalgia.

Dad showed me a small swamp where he was playing as a kid.  He said there could be a crocodile. There wasn't, but some two cool guys fished out a stingray at nearby beach.

Wow, dad and his African childhood had surely great influence on my frog fantasy work. I have some more frog drawings, be prepared! Until I get at my secret hideout, out of the screw press of the society, where my power will be back... (And where's stable internet)

EDIT: Here it is. My power is back, tremble before Q'uaksna and his frogs!

I would buy multiple copies of Lord of the Rings but everyone is a frog.

It's much better for them being realistic frogs, not just like, people with frog heads.

Yeah, making interesting races is another great fun thing. They're basically sane frogs with thick skin, some intellect, free will, human-like soul, ability to talk (but they can't pronounce everything well, like R or S, those aren't used so much. K, V, W, L, on the other hand...). So that they are sane race, yet retaining their froginess! That's my effort.

Kvaksas are the same (frogfolk were created from them, all of the first twelve were born kvaksas, but were "cleansed"), but have much longer lifespans, they're not so clumsy (therefore, much more advanced), they pronounce better (therefore, sing better) and have more complex language. And teeth. And they follow Q'uaksna, that's me!

And I must stop it here, 'cause I would end up writing whole threads explaining my froggy lore. Now that I look at it, they would make great DF mod...

Hmmm. The more talented ones would say it. The less would go "Hibbit", "Quibbit" or "Libbit". Dread words they surely are, could be used as impolite language...

Males do have larynx with vocal sacs. So I guess with its help it should be okay. They're frogs.

After much faffing about, I finally took the plunge and began converting my four-frame dwarf cycle into an eight-frame!
More tinkering is in order.

After a misprint, I have finished the detector.

This concludes my contribution to this project; Sanding, filling, painting, and gluing are going to be done by the person who asked me to print it.

What happens when a 3D printer misprints?

It creates Nazi propaganda.

Though the jury didn't seem to buy that...

That's proof that all robots are secretly Nazis, and the people in the jury couldn't handle the truth.

After a misprint, I have finished the detector.
What happens when a 3D printer misprints?

Well, depends on the nature of the misprint.

In this case, the part let loose from the build plate before it was finished (and while I was napping), causing a big wad of plastic fibrils to be extruded into thin air, and balling up into a hunk of crap.

Sometimes, the drive belt skips a notch, and there is an axis-alignment error from that, making the print have part of it shifted a bit in the axis that had the belt slip.
Other times, the bed is not properly level, so the initial layer is printed like crap.
Or, the hot-end is too hot, and the plastic sags after being extruded..

Really, there's a lot of ways a part can misprint.  Most of them are corrected by proper calibration and maintenance of the printer, and or-- more sensible slicer settings. Some are just bad luck, like the failed print I experienced. (I have taken to using some small neodymium magnets to act as "clamps" on the brim of the printed part (one on each side of the build plate, with their attraction to each other serving to give the 'grip' of the clamping they do), to better secure it, for parts that have demonstrated a tendency to release prematurely. It works pretty good, and is what I did in this case.)
