here's a thing i've been working on:

It's half serpent, half bird, 10% bug and all monster

I call these things "Splitbeaks"... cute, huh? i think it would've helped to include a size comparision to humans but needless to say, they're big.
Also don't mind the wings, making wings in 3D is hard and this is the best i can do so far. The technique is also meant for more cartoonish characters, i think.

Been writing and composing my second song in Kevekiii Kvakeii. It's a folk song about Ykewakaii, race of frog giants, inhabiting center of Tej-Hukaukuv, the great continent. They are much larger, high up to human waist. They have rough, hard skin and sharp teeth, also horn-like growths on their heads. Despite they great strength, they can't grip things, and therefore can't practice crafts. They had multiple border disputes with frogfolk in the past, especially in ancient times. The song is a bit racist, for tension was high back then.

So far it goes like this (roughly translated):

Frogs, frogs, cover in fear!
There's a giant in the north!
He's big, strong, and wroth
And he has teeth!
His gaze invokes terror
And his voice - thundering!

Warriors of the desert
Nation that great
But in us, it arouses fear
If they find you they'll
Snatch and bring you
To their homes as a slave!

On this paper I also tried to do some illustration, how would ancient frogfolk make images. They consist of these recurring simple symbols and shapes, that have a certain meaning. I of course can see the motives on them, as I know what I intended to draw, but I would like to know, if you are able to tell what do you see, if they are recognizable to a person not versed in frog culture .

I tried making a fish tank, but my particle effects seem to forget their settings whenever I go to render.

Those are supposed to be moths around the light bulb, but they seem to rocket off into space. The bubbles are also set to disappear when they touch the tank's lid.

Oh well. For the time being, I reused the fish texture for a sticker on the glass.

I just got clip studio paint and its really fun and easy to use!

On this drawing, we have Q'uaksna and a stool on paper. Q'uaksna is sitting on the stool. Q'uaksna is contemplating. Q'uaksna makes a plaintive gesture. This drawing relate to Q'uaksna having a beer in the early 2020.

I wanted to write something very wise here. But whatever. My advice is, get a beer, and everything shall be better.

Enigmatic Q'uaksnatic fairy tales

Once upon a time, I was writing a fairy tale, Tales of Sir Peasecod and adventures of his.


It's about Drahoslav, the guy on the left. The guy on right is his best friend, knight Dalibor. I might translate it, but that would be a tough task, as part of the comedy is tied to Czech language...
It's a good one. I am giving it 9/10 cuz it has only two chapters at best. Apart from that, it's just silly cheerful story that tries to put a smile on your face. I took inspiration from some Czech theatrical performers, that wrote short comedic stories. And Slavic folk stuff, and medieval stuff, and such stuff. Yeah, I should return someday to it... And to prince Romadoore too, but hey, that's another story.

Life of an ordinary kevek in time of First frog settlers on Egeevin

You are born as a little egg in a pool in your household, completely reliant on your family. Soon, you become a tadpole, and after span of approximately a year (years are significantly longer on Egeevin), you can finally leave water and start socializing. You probably have a lot of siblings or other young kevekii in your household.



You learn how to speak Kevekiii Kvakeii, and explore the secrets of the world around you. As long as you have no water-reliant siblings, you may expect from your family to move somewhere else (if they already hadn't).



If you are member of the Avelūāvūālkūāl clan, you are also expected to learn how to write and read. You may aspire to become a judge, regardless of clan, if you're allowed, in that case, you must leave your household and go to Agiii-Wuuvohuk, and study morality there with other aspirants.



If you're member of Waalwaurkūāl, you are expected to train in Luuwaur, fighting technique of your ancestors.



As soon as you're the age of twelve, you're adult and should find a partner, if you're not judge or some other devoted person. If you're a male, you have to leave your household and go off to wander the world, and find a wife. Females usually stay in their households.



When you have a partner, you go to judge or other appointed kevek, with request of marriage. You'll tell him of what clan does you and your partner want to be members from now on. You're married now.
Now you have to think, what are your next steps. You can join some household of your clan or go and found a new one. As soon you're safely settled, you should have children, before you're both old and infertile.



And you live. You work and build your home. You teach your kids how to behave in a proper kevekiii life.



From thirty to forty years, you're respected elders. You have many grandchildren, and probably can't count them all. You are becoming weakened, and death is coming closer.



You die. Your family mourns. They pick up your body and ritually burn it. Remains of you, that didn't become one with fire and air, are either stored or scattered across the land or the sea.



Judges don't have partners. They devoted all of their life to knowledge of morality. They perform religious ceremonies, blessings, they judge crimes. They are expected to be skilled scribes and loremasters.

Please, tell me if you get something from that froggy images. Only feedback I got was: "Hey, that looks cool!". Not saying much. Pretty please?

Hm, yeah. That was better than I expected... 

Look for frogs. Seems I got too wild on decorating and objects are blending into each other, must keep it more simple...

You're wrong. The frogs are very noticeable - they're central, and often delineated by a white border.


Honestly, I think they're class as are. Part of the enjoyment is the complexity.
