Ahh, sustained creation is hard-- we've all been there. Don't beat yourself up about it.

I'm trying to think how to define "inward slant". Is... the eyes are on a diagonal of sorts, with the tear ducts noticeably lower down than the outside corners of the eyes. Yes.

Not that this is inherently bad or wrong, it's just most common to have those "eye lines" mostly parallel for more realistic pieces. As long as you're aware it's totally fine, as there's a lot of individual variance, and i know i draw eyes far too large for higher brain functions to have room in any of the heads i draw. :V

You're both entirely right, sorry for causing confusion for you, Q. That was not my intent. I likely used "slant" in that context because likely some software i use, uses that term for it. In retrospect, "tilt" is probably equivalent and less likely to cause confusion, especially if English isn't your first language.

Havokawak finds Luuv dead

Haven't finished it, as you can see, but the frog models were drafted. Havokawak, patriarch of Vokawalkūāl clan, found his best friend Luuv, patriarch of Waalwaurkūāl, dead in stone wastelands where he went to battle Ykewakaii. He retrieved his body to his wife Vakaakuv, who buried him in Fuuv-Tuvuk. Havokawak then helped to preserve legacy of his friend by teaching his children fighting techniques Luuv mastered.

I think with this picture I wanted to try do some facial expressions on these frogs, I think they can express emotions well enough.

I tried to give those ancient comic characters also a fresh looks. I started with Tróba, who has the most ridiculous design of them all, and, well, I like him! If this haired bearded ridiculous frog looks well, the rest will probably do as well.

Tribute to Václav Čtvrtek and Rumcajs

You probably don't know this bearded bandit fella, do you? Well, this is Loupežník Rumcajs, and he's a legend here in Czechia. Václav Čtvrtek created this character and Radek Pilař drew him with his iconic artstyle. This guy's just cool. He's guardian of the forest, he has a bee swarm in his beard, a pistol loaded with acorns, he possess great strength but he's also shrewd and often outsmarts his foes rather than fight them.

I personally hold Václav Čtvrtek as a genius. He created many series for children that are absolute classics nowadays, he was heavily inspired by folklore and fairy tales, some uncle or someone of his used to tell him some hero-journey stories. I doubt anyone not Czech know any of his works, here, they're basically culture. Loupežník Rumcajs is definitely his most famous one, and I think the best as well.

Rumcajs works as a shoemaker in town of Jičín, but the mayor banishes him and closes his shop. Rumcajs leaves Jičín to forest of Řáholec, and becomes a bandit. There he has many adventures, helping the forest creatures and townsfolk of Jičín, fighting against mayor and Jičín nobility, he even faces the emperor (Čtvrtek went really wild on this one ). Oh yes, and he drowns a dragon. He marries maid named Manka, and have a son Cipísek, who live with him in a cave.

I have a very notable quote that I would like to share with you. At one point, Rumcajs and Manka get a chance to return into Rumcajs's shoemaker shop, and they do so. The prince of Jičín, however, uses this opportunity and sends elite woodcutters from Italy to destroy forest of Řáholec, in order to get revenge. Rumcajs learns about it, stops making shoes, loads his pistol, puts on his iconic red hat, and goes to the rescue! With help of wild beasts, he drives out the woodcutters. After the battle, he says this:

"It seems there is still not enough justice in this world. And so, the one who wanted to live as shoemaker, has to become a bandit once again."

That's... That's really deep. Genial...

I was quite sad when I read that Rumcajs has not english translation. I think he deserves more attention... Also all these books and animated series for children reminded me of Noggin the Nog... Heh, I think I have pick for the next tribute!

There is a enjoyable chapter where he is going to Jičín but attracts too much attention so he goes to barber to get a more civilized look. The poor barber can't do a thing because this guy has freakin' birds nesting in his hair and bees in beard, and they have to catch them and put in box and cage... It's hillarious.

Hey... Peter Jackson ripped off Rumcajs!

Yeah, he definitely has superpowers but also weaknesses. He was captured and imprisoned multiple times and once he stumbled over a giant and got foot injury... There. He's pretty balanced, I think.

Using Paulstretch in Audacity with a stretch factor of 1.0 on planar image data produces very colorful, if incoherent, images. I swear, the original image was an actual photo, not the resulting psychedelic splotches of color. Changing the Time Resolution changes the 'fineness' of the result. I still think these are interesting despite them being complete failures to me.
