Pfft, loving the face on the dude, looks like he accidentally swung too far back and ended up with the pickaxe mining uh, coprolite. :V

@Dunamisdeos: I don't know much of FFXIV but i do know that place looks chill as fuck, nice!

also i recently learned that the Netherlands refer to baseball as honkbal and naturally this can lead to only one conclusion

That is a mustache that commands RESPECT. I wouldn't want to run afoul of his sword either, mind you. :V

Thank! It was actually even more notable in the first sketch, inadvertently had the cap covering the eyes. While that could also have been cool, you know how it is with me and massive eyes and eyebrows. :P

Been working on a present for my sister, another insane absurdist comic akin to the ancient frog ones and Tailor anime.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

A group of "heroes" who must stop warlord Mates from cooking Hvězdné párky (Star Sausages, Czech pun on Star Wars). As of now, it has eight pages, filled with caricatures, silly jokes and references. If you ever read Jarry's King Ubu, it's written in a similar style - you can see it has plot, characters, and it isn't utterly confusing, but everything about it is absolutely ridiculous. Like, when writing the fourth pages I found myself trying to create a heartfelt moment when Géza Mezgá brought Anton tea and cookies when he was bedridden after he ate the fries on fire... I think that sentence alone can give you a good picture of what kind of story this is  :P

Also I am developing a character-creator thingie for my programming exam, something in vein of CK2 portrait builder.

Just seeing a bit of that makes me need to see more of it, also what's with what looks like cooked turkey with a face on it?

That's Pečínka (a Roast). You see, in our family lore we made up these creatures called mekavky (they're in the comic as well) , then someone started calling them mečínky, which sounds more cute but also a lot like pečínky. One time my sister this was for tried to draw a Pečínka and it looked more or less like this.

The joke there was that the team needed a captain, and as you can see one of the characters is caricature of Long John Silver from Treasure Planet, here dubbed Long Johnny Barbecue. I think Barbecue was his nickname in the original, I didn't read it in English but in Czech it is once again, Pečínka. So when they're voting everyone shouts "We want Pečínka!" and the roast shows up instead.

Quite a lot of jokes are based on some Czech puns or exact lines from Czech tranlations of various media, so it's quite hard to explain in English, also lots of it is this kind of household lore that exists within our family only.

If you really want to I can try to go through it here, it would surely be fun to me but I'm not sure how much enjoyment you guys could get. Although, some of the pictures are hilarious on their own, so... Yeah. You decide.

I'd like to see it I don't care if I don't get everything that's going on.

one of the characters is caricature of Long John Silver from Treasure Planet
That explains why that guy looked familiar.
