Looks good! I appreciate that you also drew the skull under the skin. :v

also i decided to redraw an ancient thing from 2010 because i wanted to see how big a difference a decade makes

There's probably a similar amount of time and effort put into the two, i spent way too long nitpicking the lines on the new one. :P

Don't really have any new art (still) to share as lack of motivation keeps to continue, but if someone is interested, I do have some unfinished & unpublished music tracks that've been lying around for some time.

So, here's a DF inspired one:

Nice, and positive sounding... I like it  :)

Thanks, it needs some tweaking and adjusting still - I'm not completely satisfied with it. Did the first draft maybe 3-4 years ago, but made this version somewhere last year. The longer I leave stuff lying unfinished, the harder it gets to go back to them, so we'll see when (or if) I finish this one.

After banging my head against a wall for a few hours (thanks, FFmpeg), I finally managed to Paulstretch a YUV image. It's... something, I guess. I can't even tell if something's gone wrong or not. Perhaps it's the distortion induced by changing the speed of the "audio" so that it matches what FFmpeg wants? Paulstretch changes the length of audio now at a Stretch Factor of 1, which really put a spanner in the works.
Spoiler: Planar YUV 4:4:4 (click to show/hide)

Edit: Tried padding out the "audio" with silence, and I got some better results:

The picture becomes... this? :o

It's impressive. Beautiful. Some artists could spend days drawing similar patterns.

I created something similar when trying to run ancient version of AoE II on new hardware.

I really like the second screen, with the gradient like effect. Very nice stuff.

What can I say, abusing technology in ways it was never intended to work (encoding image data in a color format designed for video, then reading said image as audio; a double whammy of "not the intended use") sometimes produces interesting results. "Sometimes" is the operative term.

So, was the result completely unexpected, or are you able to know in advance if an image have the potential to generate something interesting?

Did you choose the original picture because of the rainbow?

This works quite well also when loading a random text or whatever file as audio. With luck you find something that makes a good, sharp noisy loop with a rhythm. Used to do that quite a lot in the days when I was learning to make music with trackers.
