Isn't it the curse of the artist to always be aiming higher? Although sometimes one does nail it. In my case I always become dissatisfied with it eventually, though...

I think it's pretty cool in any case.

Playing in a new DnD campaign starting this weekend, which means it's time for a new character. Something got me started on the idea of playing an elderly elf (because presumably they exist, since they can die of old age in the DnD-verse, just no-one seems to mention them) and then I started trying to figure out how you have an elf that's lived for over six hundred years while learning almost nothing of use in an adventure, and eventually I ended up with Cirife, 652, professor of Elvish phonology.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

He's smiling like that because he really doesn't want you to challenge the assertion that he can turn you into a newt next time you skip the morning lecture.

Funny, I just thought yesterday of phonology and how different frog tribes pronounce letters.

Looks like a great guy, that elf professor. I would wanna be best buds with him and the samurai grandpa, not only are they cool but they generate newts, too!

First of all, that's one of the best DnD characters I've seen, I love it.

Second, you should make the majority of his spells language-based. Explosive runes, for instance. Comprehend Langauges, Hideous Laughter, Glyphs and Power Words.

Here are some renders of a taglharpe I modeled in Blender. I think it has a fairly dwarfy design with it's angular shape and diamond motif:

These as 1/3 scale of my proper renders, but I don't think these forums handle large images very well.
