Been a while since I made anything. Here's a shrimp cocktail with procedural materials.

Hey! I didn't know you had newt characters in your Frogworld!

And I didn't know you had an Underworld there! That's fascinating! :)

Moreover, you also fared very well in drawing your underwater landscape.

Glad to hear that, I've been relying mostly on my gut on this one. I think I'll draw more pieces on this particular myth, there's more of the frog cosmology in it if that's what you're interested in.

As for newt characters, that's mostly spirits taking upon themselves animal forms, apart from the frog races there ain't much sentient animal species. There's a family of talking serpents/dragons descended from Hádás, but those aren't very clearly defined as of now.

It appears that trusting you creative intuition gives excellent results!

Also, worldbuilding is one of my greatest passions. So yes, I can say I'm very curious to know more about your frog cosmology, or any other mystical stuff like newt spirits!

And good on you, Cathar.

Here's the myth/fable, with some reused imagery but plenty of new. Hope you'll like it.

Ooh, that was a nice fable, Quaksna. It worked really well with your art style, evoking some dream-like imagery in my head.

I find that story remarkable. I think it contains everything one would expect from a myth of creation, while evidently revolving around animals, but the fact that this very subject is like... inherent to its every aspects, it definitely makes it stand out. What I mean is mainly that it shows the complexification of the animal world, from simple invertebrates to mammals and birds, and from a primordial bubbling of life in the underworld to its migration to the upper world, but at the same time, we see that the process has literally been triggered by the shedding of the chameleon god Dsábul, and that it is defined by his anatomical features! That's quite unique! :D

Furthermore, I like the beginning part where we get a clear depiction of the difficult life of the Kvaksas and can also feel very well their growing despair, and that of Qvuaksna, their creator. There is then a plunge into the dark underworld, where life begins in a beautiful but chaotic fashion, and to me it's fascinating to imagine.

Afterward, I enjoyed the quest of Sorm, with the terrific contrast between him and the gargantuan snake Ánhrr, the escape of the animals in and out of Sorm that perfectly call to mind their biology (fish hiding their babies in their mouth for example), and the ending where the cruelty of Hádás is countered by the unexpected empathy of Ánhrr as well as the magical vitality of the godly newt.

And about the visual art, I appreciated the spiritual feeling given by the first picture, the disorderliness of the bunch of fish, the clean view of the meeting between Sorm and Qvuaksna, the impressive head of Ánhrr, and the emergence of corrals that have a shape mirrored by Sorm's disjointed arms.

So yes, I can say I love that myth!
