I think that from what I've seen you should charge money for the finished product of this. Slap it on steam man.
Or at least give it it's own thread, it deserves to have more eyes on it. :v
I really appreciate the kind words, and I'm glad you liked it! I'm taking a short break from Redlander for work and burnout's sake, but I'll be working on it again soon. Maybe I'll make a thread too, I'unno!
Also, it might sound weird, but I actually don't want to charge for this project. The free game ecosystem of the early internet was really important to me as a young person without much means, and a non-ideal home environment... and part of my philosophy with making games is to make them low-tech, broadly accessible, and fund what I can via donations, so that I don't have to paywall 'em. Right now, the project is funded by my Patreon, and I've applied for some no-strings-attached grants, so I can afford to put more time into it and keep it free. It's important to me to do so!
P.S. I'm never selling or hosting
anything on Steam ever again. For a series of controlling and exploitative reasons that don't bear getting into in this thread, that platform is hell for small devs. Itch.io is my home for a reason!
I really like the direction you've gone with the art.
Aww, thank you! I've kinda fallen in love with 1-bit pixel art, and it's 100% this project's fault. I'm even using it in 3D now... it's a problem.
