Now that I look at it, I realize that I recognize both of those gradients from GIMP.

Might as well chalk it up to Pathos.
As this point we might as well invoke interpretive dance and call it a day.

I've used all sorts of fill-patterns for my ISG. I know how it feels.

What means are you animating with? Frame by frame or keyframe? What I'd do is just draw both gears, mesh em together, then spin them in opposite directions (using Flash or AfterEffects)

Finally finished redoing old sprites that I posted here before. Here is the new sprite sheet, with the old one for comparison.

I'm not that good at pixel art, but at least now they look better than they used to.

Larger version, since it is hard to see.

I made an eldritch/illusion-type thingy to use as a gameboard in a forum game I might (read: will probably never) run.

Still have to clean it up a bit, but I thought it was kinda cool.

Isometric paradox drawings are fun! I assume you've seen the penrose steps? If not look those up and pen rose's other works for ideas!

Kinda reminds me of the game Echochrome. Here's another.

More critiques and next suggestion?

How about an office worker of year 2095? You'll have to display both technological advancement in everyday garment and equipment with an overall impression of it being incredibly common and somewhat cheap. That would be a challenging task for me, don't know about you.
Well ya see, I can't draw people to save the life of me (armor is a different story), faces and propers arms/legs and clothes are very difficult for me.
I'm kinda different, where my favorite part about drawing people is the clothing. I never draw faces on them because I always screw them up in multiple ways.

Dwarves passing by get good thoughts from the mist of water and exploding felines.
Anyone of the equivalent to the royal bloodline in a nomadic group would have a sun tattooed on their hand, or a scrotum on their forehead (it's a little-known fact that fraternities are based off of long-forgotten tribes).

Looks interesting.

Well then, what better time to start mercilessly tormenting yourselves by drawing nothing but faces for a short while? It's only a matter of time before it gets impractical to cover all faces with plate metal. :v
This i will say though, i am very uncomfortable with trying to draw female faces, for some odd reason. A quick glance through my deviantArt gallery reveals that all my doodles are either indistinct or male, with the only females being the very recent drawings i've made during drawing course. I'm not entirely sure what this says about me. :P

so anyways here's me stepping WAY out of my comfort zone and drawing a female face without reference

Spoiler: apparently she's asian (click to show/hide)

And now you know why i generally avoid it. I have to concede that REALISTIC faces are incredibly hard to get right, which is why i usually stylize them. :v
