I'll freely and gladly admit I have no idea what wood and knives even are about :(

But I finished my last page. It's not the best, but I'm happy I'm finally able to finish something I'm overall proud of

My knowledge regarding wood is mostly yew is for bows while oak is for keels, hulls and doors. Other than that its X is a pretty tree, Y looks ugly. And yew berries are poison.

Hey, congrats on finishing! I'll have to go read through them all now, since I kept forgetting to keep up. Tiny spelling mistake in panel four: It would be "You really had to leave..." Instead of "You really had do leave..."

Aww
Well since it's a training comic, mispelling will have to be part of it unfortunately. I'll make a post in the Mong Kima when the subcover is finished, so it'll be easy reading.

Again sorry for my english

Yeah, really don't worry about it too much. I'm actually sorry, I came off pretty harsh, sorry! If anything, I have to commend you on your English, since I'm learning French and my grammar... Isn't great.

Naaah, it's cool ! I've been speaking english for a very long time, I should not be looking for excuses, and don't worry about harsh criticism lol. I mean it's good to be considerate and all, but on the internet I'm used to far, far, far worse

I just finished the subcover. Tomorrow, I'll be working on the story two out of four, I'm in for the long run.

Nice work as always, Cathar.

I finally managed to put up some of my newer artwork. So, here's cover artwork from my album (late 2016):

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

(I actually made a separate topic which has all of the illustrations and links to the album, if someone is interested: http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=171306.0)

a quick doodle
==>produces something I'd call a finished piece if not for some roughness around the shield's perimeter and the bottom of the cape...

* karhell returns to the drawing board and initiates a training montage

More seriously, that's an absolutely awesome quick doodle. Pose is crystal-clear, lighting is spot-on :)
Just a minor design complaint in that the poleyns (knee protection) look riveted (screwed, actually?) to the cuisses with no way to articulate, but eh. That's just armour-geekery speaking up ^^
also dorf smiths don't need no physics getting in the way of aesthetics :P

Oh yeah, that. Well. I kinda want to have a realistic-ish feel to my comics/AAR (she's Haspen's daughter in Mong Kima) but since it's based off DF, we need to take some liberties I suppose
Like, two handed swords made of bronze. That is pretty much a nope due to the softness of the material relative to steel (a long bronze blade would bend very easily, especially on contact with armor, shields or other blades)... So even tho I aim for something plausible, a bit of physic defying designs fits in the context

Tho you're right I should have done my research :D

Also yes, this is a doodle because it's done under an hour, and it's neither inked nor colored. I do this kind of things to chill out ^^

I should start networking

It is the most important part of getting a job--'specially for storytelling. Not networking correctly (and being a dumb kid in general) has pretty much set my life back four or five years.

Going to campus employer events. Portfolio days. Making things with friends (like comics, shorts, or anything you can put in a portfolio). Schmoozing professors. Attending literally every event ever to try and make a friend or two in the right places. Entering your work into competitions/winning awards. Etc. Etc.
