It's very effective in the context of a hex game where you want people to be able to easily recognize the terrains. It doesn't look like an actual forest, but then it doesn't have to.

Brown-colored ground couldn't hurt though.
It's small enough that it won't affect the perception of the hex's colour much.

I asked a friend of mine to make a quick-ish doodle of me as Azazel from TBOI: Rebirth, which I decided to color and shade today. Turned out decent, I think.

Also oh man, thanks for your kind words, guys. I'm personally pretty happy with how the RED THING turned out, despite how quickly it was made. Had i decided to spend more time on it, i'd probably have smoothed out the floaty rocks. :v

I think a forehead monocle would be more appropriate.

Also I've been working on something that isn't art per se, but I'm still happy so far. To go with the name generator I created some time ago, I'm writing a program that will randomize what a person would look like. It's text only, because let's not get too crazy here. I changed the structure of the functions mid-writing because I realized I was doing it in a horribly inefficient manner, so once it's done it will probably be rewritten.

The photorealistic render is pretty impressive if you ask me. I see a couple render artifacts though.

Yeah, I thought that was a photo until I saw the black lines along the edges. Good job on that model, though.
