Finally posting the chicken walker I finished a week or so ago, I know the right hip(?) joint (its left) is too big (or too small, depending on how I wanted to engineer it...)

The design is not so great, but that perspective is really impressive.

Thank you Comrade Wriggled, I have filed your advice away. I've actually corrected tinyfeet and the spear, but can't be bothered to re-scan. :P

I get the feeling you've got problems visualizing 3d objects and space as flat imagery.

Imaginary vanishing point might help.

Interesting, tell me more?

DS3 Fire Keeper, drawn younger. Contrast and shading are a little messed up because the scanner washed it out horribly and I struggle to correct it accurately. :/

It's not the greatest*, but drawing it was pretty good for me I think, in terms of practicing things and fixing mistakes.

*I think her head is too tall, not the happiest with the facial shape, her hair is pretty bad where it hangs over her mask. Also clothes, mang.

Well i guess i can say taking that course in art history wasn't a total waste.

Using vanishing points in drawing people is in theory pretty simple, you pick a point somewhere behind the person, and imagine the lines of the persons volume extend out towards the point. It helps to give depth to flat drawings, some practice with perspective drawing should help anyone improve their art in many formats.

A good examination of Renaissance art, as well as some practice would be what i suggest if you with to draw more realistic representations.

Try drawing and shading ordinary shapes with a centralized vanishing point; sphere, cylinder, and box in differing orientations. Alternatively you could try drawing more complicated shapes with more aggressive shadows, another approach to adding depth is giving a more realistic shadow cast, for practice, i'd suggest getting a bright light (flashlight if possible) and a mirror and simple see how the shadow casts on your face with different lighting, and sketch it.

You must also not be discouraged, anyone can learn how to draw, but not everyone can be a great artist.

Only if your looking at a flat front side of a box.

Everything that isn't straight up and down left and right is angled toward or away from the vanishing point, unless it has a particular reason not to.

Your perspective is kind of weird there. It's not unreadable or anything, but it looks strange because the units are from 3/4 / sideways (in the case of the tanks) perspective while the ground is strict hawk's-eye. Also, as a result of this, the fence (?) bears a more than passing resemblance to a chalk line somebody drew on the ground, and the oil barrels look more like diamond-shaped stone tiling than oil barrels :v

Yeah, would be a good idea to sprite those props in perspective. And make the barrels red. :P

Sorry, it's hard to use my resizer on my phone so I'll just post links instead.

Doesn't look vastly like either, but it is very sleek and menacing.

I was going for something between a Betelgeusian from Space Dandy and Toothless, but I think that the latter is a bit too apparent and the former doesn't really stand out at the moment. The main thing I'm quibling with is how to draw the ears and the mouth, and maybe a bit on the posture.
