Tried to finish the main theme for my movie, it's already composed too, yet I wasn't able to finish it.
I've been recordin' singing freakin' eleven verses in Kevekiii Kvakeii, for like, three hours already, still not content. Hope I'll sing better tomorrow, 'cause I'm pretty proud of the song. Look forward... Again.

It's going to take absolutely forever to finish rendering. I hope the glitch effect ends up being worth it. I wonder if I should make the grids move as well, or if that would be too much movement, since the floppy disk spins as well.

I have recently embarked down a project path to produce high-quality CAD data for a retro-computing peripheral from yesteryear.  This is not finished yet, and I am still collecting data, but here's what I have so far.  You can find the thread on AtariAge where I am collaborating with other retro computer enthusiasts here.



Specifically, this is one of several sheet metal components in the "Peripheral Expansion Box", or PEB.  It is/was a secondary purchase for people who forked out for a TI 99/4A back in the late 70s to early 80s.  I noted that there is very little information about these old relics for retro-builders to work with, (EG, dimensional drawings, CAD models, et al-- For use when designing modern retro peripherals or replacement parts) so I started down this path.

Ultimately, I intend to have a fully accurate 3D CAD assembly for this peripheral, and to create industrial drawings of all of its components. (And then move on to the other parts in this computer's ecosystem.)

Thanks. I tried making a wallpaper/1920x1080 version, but somehow that got rid of the grain.

I don't know what I did, but I think I prefer the crustier look of the grain. I'll have to go digging through autosaves to get that back.

And the glitch is animated. Took a few hours for only a few seconds.

I use Dassault Systeme's CATIA.  It's what BOEING and pals use.

It has useful sheetmetal workbenches and tools for creating unfoldable geometry. (meaning I can generate a flat pattern for that sheet metal part easily.)

Oh no, The flight control software is completely unrelated to the software used to design the thing.

CATIA works great.  It's just "WE'RE BEHIND SCHEDULE!!! SHIP IT! SHIP IT NOWWW!!!!! OMGWTFBBQ~!!" from management over at BOEING that is responsible for the 787 MAX fandango.  Who knew, lowballing your development costs, while shooting for the moon, in order to attract sales first and foremost, then trying to play catchup later--- results in people being killed! Who would have figured!

Rest assured, the people in the quotes department will not suffer any consequences, as usual. It will be blamed solely on the engineering team.  Like it always is.
