So how are you recreating the case in CAD, are you using technical specifications, or are you basing on pictures, or something else?

I have a person I am working with through AtariAge, who owns one, who is feeding me measurements taken with digital calipers.

It was the lack of technical drawings that sent me down this path

First up, the fist comission I've gotten from someone that wasn't my usual guy in months.


Second, Yuri in this particular setting ended up walking the path of a scientist's assistant. Some days go better than others. This was one of those days that didn't go particularly well, but hey. Not dead, and any fight you walk away from couldn't have been that bad (at least in the context of a fallout-like setting anyway.)

While not exactly a creative project per-se, I just threw together a 3d print .stl file for an adapter kit for some LED H7 headlights I bought, so that I can put them inside my mazda 3.

(Unlike other vehicles, the Mazda 3 line uses this proprietary adapter for the H7 bulbs, so that it can be retained in the retention mechanism of the headlamp assembly. Basically, it pads out the thickness a bit, and spaces the legs of the bulb further apart, while making it stick out longer.  Since the LED bulbs have a voltage controller chip system build into them, they are thicker and longer after the metal locator platen, and cannot fit onto the mazda adapter for installation.  Instead, I am printing a "Spacer" that pads the metal retention platen area to the correct thickness for the the retainer, after which there is PLENTY of room for the mazda adapter to go on for the connector spacing.)

Thanks. I don't know if I'll add decals later, but basic colours are at least done for now. I never really put stickers on my gameboys anyways; I usually peeled off the informational stickers that they came with.
