I feel tired. Weak. Hadn't drawn much. So, let's uncover one of my old unfinished projects.

Behold, the vision of Ezekiel, based on Ezekiel 1-2, but I stopped for it was way too psychedelic.

Ezekiel. What does he see?



Ah, angels! There are four angels, with four faces, four wings, sticking to each other (No, really. Read Ezekiel 1-2, it's awesome.) That was, I think, the most difficult thing I accomplished here. Oh, and they should be covered in flames and light.



Sketch of an Ophan, best angel ever. There should be four of them, but this was when I stopped, cuz I really wasn't able to draw a four-winged wheel in wheel four times... But I love them.



And a creature looking like a man, on a flickering throne, representing God, talking down to Ezekiel.

So, i made this render as a small side-thing to my current big main project. i used it for pushing the models and the rig way past the breaking point to iron out any problems, and there are a lot of them.

There's a lot of hackery in this image but I'm actually pretty happy with how this turned out, a real rarity indeed. This image might as well be another vertical slice image with how many curious details there are.

Ok, some trivia about this render:
The knife was originally on the the waist belt, but it clipped too hard, so it was moved to the thigh, it still clips, but its not as visible.

Most of the body lacks any particle-hair, because Blender decided to fuck up my particle system and i decided that fixing it isn't worth the effort, since i didn't notice the lack of particle-hair for several hours. A testament to how much effort has been put into the underlying material.

The sun rays are rendered using volumetrics, and depend the actual geometry of the tree and leaves for the effect.


Either way, i think i'll try taking a break from working on the big project for a while and either finally try playing Divinity Original Sin 2 again, or get back to modding DF...

Also, digging through my forgotten projects, I uncovered folders of old, containing an epic fairy tale. I was making pixelart in MS Paint back then to amuse my younger siblings... From a humble start, it went on and on, I did for years, and...

I'm just amazed how deep I went into that lore. I found maps in the folders, written tales, records of various timelines, all centered about a magical land I called, of course, Žabí Údolí (Frogvale), ranging from Mount Kvakvůna to northern snowy peaks. It's just... Wow. So much creativity...

I feel like I might lost it. This ambition, this effort. I hope not...

Ah, I am babbling. Would you like to see ancient records of Frogvale, with your very eyes?

What am I doing with my life

Now that is a good question. Reminds me of that pink chipmunk/rat thing in Sonic Unleashed. Is it that? Man, Sonic games' CGI cutscenes along with Pixar movies were some of my biggest inspiration for getting into 3D. Though the story of how i actually made my first model is a rather interesting one.

I feel like I might lost it. This ambition, this effort. I hope not...

That's exactly how I feel a lot of the time. While i know my old stuff was objectively inferior in technique to my newer stuff, my newer work just doesn't have the same kind of energy and spirit that my old stuff does, its hard to explain, like something is missing and i can't replicate my old stuff anymore.

Just to illustrate my point a little, here's a render that i made for Terraria's monthly art thing a long time ago.  This was made at most 2 months after i got into 3D, on my old prebuilt PC with a GTX 760.
