The trinity is designed to be confounding, and there is few things as blasphemous as a gluttonous orange fascist upholding a bible after clearing the churchground with teargas, so I gave our hippy friend a voice, using the most passive aggressive rambling prayer I've ever heard. They shall get the other cheek in shape of a headbutt.

:___

I don't get it.

The only thing I caught was that Jesus defeated Death and Uncle Sam. What was with the ending? I am rather confused, too!

I'm not sure whether I should be amused, offended, disgusted, or just puzzled.

Heh it's kind of an old joke. I won't ruin the video with all my thoughts about every detail, but the video description gives a crucial hint why I felt necessary to take a shot at religious zealots: with god being dead, the night(obscurantism and death), jesus and uncle sam are our new trinity in a post-truth world. Just as in the old trinity their distinctivness is unclear, in a remote way they are one and representing the tug-o-war between the self, the subconscious and the superego.

Yeah it's designed to be confusing and polemic. But I doubt that you in particular should feel offended.

Hey, that's actually pretty clever. I kinda like that.

You see, I am pretty zealous myself, I am pretty easily offended by stuff like this, depicting concepts I respect in a way I don't like. I just needed a clarification  ;).

Zealous is pejorative to me, sounds like you're a more a of true christian if you can sit trough 3 minutes of possible heresy. See I hate religion, but I have absolutely no qualms with faith.

Ligere: to bind, as in bonds and vows, that's the "mainstream" reading but I remember one of my favourite people in the world... there was a whole thing she took like 5 minutes out of the class, because she had a different word that would have fit as root and even a sound linguistic theory how it became the word religion. IDK maybe it was ligere and I just hyped up my memory of it, and she just referred to an older theory... Anyway the gist of it was that religion is entirely about paradigm and orthodoxy. The best way to say it I've ever heard goes: tradition is the transmission of fire, not the veneration of the ashes.

You can't judge something if you don't know it, can you? Blindly acting without reasoning and questioning, thinking over the matter is just stupid. By zealous I mean more like being invested in the faith a bit more.

But I would be careful deeming someone "true christian" when you're not one yourself (no offense intended, advice). That might sound like you judge something you're not familiar, which is not good. I see what you mean here, just saying someone could get angry over that.

Enough with rants, on with art! Too bad I don't have any right now  :P

Well I am baptised myself etc... But even John the baptist was part of what was then a jewish cult, you know, and jesus died on the fucking cross, so they were never part of the cool kids club establishment. To the pharisee jewish elite class, Jesus was a heretic. TBF I know little of zeal's (or zle) roots but I know Eifer in my mothertongue, and it doesn't mix with the pretty words - but it will leave a hell of a flavortext in classic rpg.

Just wanted to clarify that.
