Building on that, I'm guessing we have Forest (or if it's a trident it could be Sea?) Frogs, Mountain Frogs, Hill Frogs, Plain Frogs, and Home Frogs.

Building on that, I'm guessing we have Forest (or if it's a trident it could be Sea?) Frogs, Mountain Frogs, Hill Frogs, Plain Frogs, and Home Frogs.

Is not that much tied to terrain or land. The first one is Waalwaurkūāl, their symbol is hand used and they live by the sea, but often send brave souls to the northern border to fend off giants. The second are the most toad like, Vokawalkūāl, Vokawak means stone or rock (their patriarch and founder, Havokawak literally translates to Like-a-rock). The third one, Kauvedalkūāl, lives in between these two and their symbol is eye. The fourth is Ejiiikyvolkūāl, their are the smallest and most tree-frog like. Their symbol, the straight line represents a path, a journey. And the last are homefrogs.

Ejiiikyvolkūāl and Waalwaurkūāl have smooth skin, the others have rough, with lumps and warts, to various extent. Of course Kevekii marry into other clans than their own, so not all of these physical traits are shared between all clan members, but they are fairly common within the respective population. Also the order they are drawn there does not mirror the order they were chronologically founded, they weren't established at the same time.

Been trying to make a character, but trying to sculpt has been a bit frustrating. I've made a base myself, but I messed up the face pretty bad under the mask by being careless with dyntopo.



So I've been doing more cartoony stuff to kind of procrastinate on having to make a new head for the base, since I forgot to make a back-up.



Maybe I should add a tree or something.

The following written portion, which directly inspired (and was modified as the picture was made) the bit of artistic effort below is meant to be set to "I think I did an Illegal: The track," otherwise known as the track "Crush" from Hotline Miami.

He stood up from the broken corpse, the body wall-eyed from a shattered ocular bone, teeth scattered around and the skull deformed by the killing blow. He had been lucky, as a blown-away portion of his shield, a makeshift affair of copper plating layered over a steel slab, could attest, all while blood still dripped from his claw hammer.

Almost three dozen corpses lay scattered before the community's gates. Most were... Uninvited guests. At least a few though, were people he had called his friends. Broken limbs, shattered skulls, and bullet-riddled carcasses all combined into some grim lawn ornament that festooned the field with gore and tragedy. And he had done more than his part, leaving five bodies behind him somewhere in the dense overgrowth with snapped limbs and crumpled skulls, broken under hammer blows or collapsed by shield strikes.

In the distance, one of his friends was wrenching their rifle free from a corpse, the bayonet lodged in its torso somewhere. He recognized the mangled remains of another, split apart into a pile of shredded flesh confetti by an anti-material round.

By a tree in his field of view, another corpse lay, propped against an aging maple. Their left arm had been torn away, and skull smashed apart by some high velocity round; the only proof they had ever had a head was the shredded stump of a jaw, and the fresh pinkish splatter of bone shards, blood, and brain-matter smeared out against the blown out section of maple wood. A look in another direction, and a man pleading for his life was snuffed by another member of the community, who rammed a machete into thier chest to finish him.

Still, for all of these, at least twice as many had fled, such was the rapidity of the slaughter the defenders had enacted. That man hadn't been special; they simply had no use for prisoners. And this had become routine for the defenders. Something not thought about, but a routine chore that practiced hands had made into a trivial, if harrowing, errand. He looked down at the lifeless husk beneath his feet, and despite everything, felt nothing.

No sorrow, no regret, not even fear.

All he felt was simple emptiness.

I desperately want to make what amounts to a total conversion mod for the setting this is in for DF, but god does it look so fuckin' overwhelming to do.

Yeah it was just me thinking about how to make giant snails actual scary DnD monsters, and the solution is usually to just stick gothic faces on it
