Spoiler: Backstory (click to show/hide)

Spoiler: Rules and Instructions (click to show/hide)

Spoiler: Extra Equipment (click to show/hide)

This party will get started once we have at least three brave volunteers to go aboard the enemy mothership. Any additional recruits once the game has started will enter at the same boarding site and have to catch up with the party, wherever they are.

(I reserve the right to fudge a rule if I believe the game will be more fun if I do so.)

She always wears an eye-catching red catsuit and is currently writing the thesis for her doctorate, "The Philosophy of Extreme Caution: Why Nothing is More Wrong, Except Perhaps the Zorthwoopian Supreme Overlord: A Post-Modernist View".

Name: Ren Steel

Bio: Ren is a male of 27 years, standing at a stout 5 feet and 5 inches tall. He has pale white skin, typically called a hackers tan due to his sitting infront of computers most of the day, black short cropped hair, green eyes and a small tattoo on his collarbone in the form of a small exotic type of symbol, somewhat like a barcode. He's been a military tech for over 6 years and been in the military since he was 18. He was always good with computers, but not as proficient in social situations as he is somewhat of a geek.

Name: Erin Flores
Bio: Somewhat short commando type female green jacket,  dark glasses and an everpresent baseball cap. Erin is the last member of the LHFA-Last Human Freedom Alliance, formed to resist the machines invading her homeland.

They didn't do very good, since she's the only one left. Erin has been fighting robots ever since she was 15. She prefers rifles and bombs to more technical things. Quite determined and brave in most circumstance, but seeing all her buddies get zapped has made it difficult for her to form attachments with other soldiers.

Now, she's signed up for this suicide mission to hopefully turns things around, and maybe make sure the mothership only destroys the enemy machines.

All right! I'm just about ready to deploy you all. I'm glad you didn't follow the "up to two sentences" limit; in retrospect that was rather silly. I added a character template by request to the original post in case more people enlist.

Hilda, your commander, General Ormphos, recommended you especially for this mission, knowing about your reckless attitude and sharp mind. He believes you have what it takes to push through and get the job done, and coming from him, this is a great compliment.

Lorren, you were selected for your mental agility, partially to serve as a lookout for your team, and partially to check Hilda in case her recklessness gets the better of her.

Ren, you were among the more knowledgeable of the hacker types who volunteered for the mission, having demonstrated under duress an impressive ability to hack a supposedly secure system the military provided just for the purpose. Pitifully, none of the others who tried were able to root the machine, which made you the rather obvious candidate.

Erin, General Ormphos was somewhat reluctant to place you on the mission due to mostly unfounded fears that you might snap and ruin the mission. Surprisingly, he allowed you on anyway, and it was only later that you accidentally learned that your psychologist, Dr. Mna, convinced him to let you on because you were "well suited" to the suicidal nature of the mission.

Blowing shit up shall commence soon.

Turn 1

The ease with which your cloaked scout ship approaches the looming mothership is almost ominous. It doesn't help that the pilot looks like he wants to piss himself. Judging from the smell, it's possible he already has. Fortunately for the four of you, you won't have him putting a damper on your morale for the rest of the mission. Your cursory teamwork exercises before the mission presented the image of a team of four strong people, which did not include a weak-kneed pilot.

The mothership soon draws within range of short-range teleporters. If all goes well, the teleporter will breach the enemy shields as expected. The pilot flips the four switches at once, and each of you experiences the feeling of dissolving...

[6] ... And reconstituting in a literally alien environment, an obsidian-colored rectangular room with an exit on both of the short sides of the room, one labeled "A2" and the other "B2". Considering you were all in sitting position as you were deconstituted, you rematerialize in sitting position and fall flat on your asses. [1] To make matters worse, there are five Zorts in the room who are now very interested in your presence. -1 to your attack and dodge rolls next turn as you regain a standing position.

Edit: Adding in player status for convenience. Clothing is implied, but all other items will be listed. Just a note: unholstering is an action, but is an exception to the -1 rule if the other action this turn is to fire it. I will, however, assume you all were ready for a fight as you boarded, and had your rayguns unholstered. Toggling safety is a free action you can do whenever.

We must eliminate them immediately and silently.

Hilda will leap elbow first at whichever enemy looks nearest to sounding the alarm and bludgeon it in the vocal cords with her elbows and throttle it to death as silently as possible.

((Or, since we have a -1, I guess I could activate the Extreme Caution Shield? Or we could try to talk them out of whatever they want to do to us?))

edit: Dwarmin's plan is much better.

Pick one and go with it. You do have a -1, but that doesn't mean you can't still do an attack. Unless you say otherwise I will assume you do your bolded action.

Erin just needed a second of hesitation on their end. She knew enough of the Zort to know their most common sayings and the fact they lived in a tyrannical hegemony where they were executed for the slightest hint of disobedience.

Action: Call out in the Zort language "All hail the Supreme Overlord!"-which they are supposed to stand at attention for when called out.

Then shoot them when they salute.

Oh hell yes. New action.

Salute whilst Erin shouts out, then dash to the door and trap the Zort in the room, meleeing any which approach.

Name: Franz d'Avistral
Appearance: An average height man with short dark hair and dark blue eyes. He has a muscled body.
Bio: Franz is an 24 tear old agent of the Earth Security agency and is so very good in CQC and weapon handling. He is usually very friendly, but can be destructive if tipped off.

That last gobbo would stand there, missing an arm, punctured in a kidney, liver, and spleen, fading in and out of consciousness at the far end of where the drawbridge would go, and his last sight would be the drawbridge dropping down and smashing him like a bug.

God DAMN I love this game!

Let's do this!

Roll into the closest bit of cover possible then open fire on the closest Zort!

Follow Dwarmin/Erin's plan. Perform a roll while shooting sporadically at the Zort's general position afterwards.
