Personally I kinda like the idea that I will have DF to play over the next 20 years or so and I can look forward to it being updated pretty much every year.  Think about it, we may be playing this game with our grandchildren.  That is if the danger room doesn't get them first :P.

I'm just happy I was around before this upcoming release. Now when I talk with newcomers to the game, I can be all like, "Back in MY day, we didn't have this fancy schmancy justice system, or those sneaky little vampires, or multilevel designations. Back in those days, when you wanted a 100 z-level staircase to the magma sea, you had to WORK for it."

There is. It runs on enslave animators writing on 120 sheet of z-levels stacked on each other. It has a fps of zero and takes two days for a single to turn over.
