Water pressure
« on: January 14, 2012, 09:08:38 am »

So I have created a small reservoir that is filled from a murky pool (using a pump).
This is what happened when Urist McCrawler become lever operator (the reservoir overfill):

Spoiler (click to show/hide)
The water is going in from the right side and left one is going up to a well (haven't been used for a long time). But what happened to the pressure? Why isn't the water elevating to the same level on both sides? Does anyone have any explanation?
This is lasting for at least 6 in-game months.

P.S. It's not a big deal. After all I am not trying to drown anyone ... yet ;D.

Well there is SOME pressure, hence why it's going up.

It's repressurizing to the level of the pump, so it's climbing the stairs again. Two options. Option one is to set up a pressure plate to shut off the water before it starts climbing the stairs.

Yes, I know water should go up in U-tube.

But my quetion is why did it stop rising in the left tube while there is plenty of it in the right one. The unreasonable difference of 2 z-levels betwean ends of the U-tube.

Has the pump been shut off? That could do it.

Incidentally, the second option that got cut off was to install a second pump lower to change the level it's working back up to.
