8 hours of class all weekdays this week and assignments and midterms for the 5th week straight. What little sleep I'm getting is too precious to use on DF. It'll be weeks before I can really play.

Is it taking a ridiculous amount of time to generate a world for anyone else? It's gone from 30 minutes to over 6 hours. I got to 270 years before cancelling it on my computer and 248 on my laptop before pausing and telling it to just complete.

I don't want to have to wait several days for a 1000 year old world...

It must be a mistake on my behalf right? It can't be that this is how it works now right?

Yes, world gen times have gone up.  For now, just generate a smaller world if it's taking too long.

Gone up isn't really an adequate description for 6 hours. But yeah, I'll move down to a smaller world.
I hope some pre-genned worlds start popping up for us to use.
