The Thothgol
« on: January 28, 2012, 12:23:19 pm »

I recently completed, to satisfaction, my first modded race, the Thothgol. They are large, tusked, semi-furred humanoids with a hair trigger temper.
They have their own language, Nobles, attributes and feel.

A rough idea of what they look like:

Possibly, and maybe social awareness as well. Really there hasn't been that much experimenting done with the soul attributes as far as I know, beyond the basic "what skills does this help with" testing.

Ultimate Fortress Mod. Plans to add tons of new content, currently working on plants. (Currently on Hiatus)

It would be brutally difficult and probably won't work. In other words, it's absolutely dwarven!

Ah ok, cheers. I'll leave it as is, for the time being, then.

Finally an update!

Changed to fit with 0.7 and a couple of personal tweaks.

Interesting concept. Other than the creature itself, are there improvements to fortress mode and such?

No, it's just a creature/civ. It was my first attempt at modding, so I made a civlisation.
Nothing major, they basically just play differently than Dwarves. No Martial Trance, different ethics and attributes, fluff, etc.

In the future I might expand on this, make some more creatures and races, but I don't really want to mess around with the core game.

Longtime lurker, thought I'd post support here.  I really like this!  I'm not so crazy about a few of the noble titles, but this sort of brutish neanderthal-style beastman is a nice, low-fantasy race that doesn't stick to the orc/goblin Tolkien schtick.  Gonna use it!

Thanks MM.
