Setting up my Aquillo base has just been agony. Initially, no pumpjacks or concrete. Then, I find that 200 concrete really doesn't go very far, and I'd forgotten to bring a pump and/or the raw materials to make one. Next ship, I realize that I need superconductors and blue chips to build cyro plants... and again and again.

At least I seem to have designed my ship well enough. The main problem I've currently got is that it runs a little low on fuel. I might need to try to add some pumps - as I understand it, I can go 90% speed and consume only 75% fuel (or something to that effect), although I'm not sure how to get that set up.

In other news: holy hell - I just dropped an artillery cannon and thirty shells onto Gleba. While I'm sure that it'll reduce attacks in the future, right now, in the present, it's causing the entire planet to rise up and throw themselves bodily at my base.

Thruster control in factorio is obtuse at best, you can't get a reading on the engines themselves for their fill %, and even a pump set to keep a reservoir at like 5% full will eventually saturate all linked engines, so you get a massive (and inefficient) speed boost at first whenever flying.

I really want that one as a "when". I want "grubs", and "virgin woman" to turn into a dragon. and monkey children to suddenly sprout wings. And I want the Dwarven Mutant Academy to only gain their powers upon reaching puberty. I also have a whole host of odd creatures that only make sense if I divide them into children and adults.

Finally getting science off of Aquillo - the end is in sight!

My recommendation for anyone heading there: whenever you think to yourself "I could really use some X right now" go to your Aquillo-capable ship and add a rocket's worth of X to its request queue; you will forget what it is you wanted by the time the ship hits the inner planets again; which, incidentally, is the story of how I ended up having to hand-craft red inserters and power poles.

Unlocking of legendary-level upgrades has been 'fun' - it basically means that I need to go back over everything and make sure nothing gums up due to the extra items. Luckily, for the most part, my production just cares about "is it basic-level?" or "is it better than basic level?" - I haven't really been actively quality grinding; mostly because I knew this was coming.

Fulgora's a hoot, though, since I get to figure out what to do with the results of ruin mining, which results in useful items such as legendary rocks.

Aquilo didn't give me too much headache with logistics. Most likely because my main exploration ship already had almost everything a factory needs on auto request, so I had to keep coming back for minor things.

171:55:08 later and we cross the finish line! Ended up having to slow (way) down about halfway there, since I was consuming rockets faster than I could make them.

That's an impressively compact ship for the endgame. I'm impressed.  :D
