I want Gnomes to be able to speak and build battlemechs.  Or at least coffee machines.  Okay I have been reading Legends & Lattes again...sorry.  But I still want civilized Gnomes with goggles and steam engines and auto-crossbows!   :P

The coffee is enchanted so drinking it after eating a meal that included animal meat will cause beards to fall out, because the cult of hairless chins always needs new members.

Dwarf summer festivals, fortress-wide participation in a tournament of traditional activities such as: tree climbing, cavern collapsing, carp wrestling, crundle punching, and loyalty cascading.

Pregnant dwarf women should develop cravings and mandate your kitchens to prepare specific dishes (often esoteric in nature) in the style of the goods mandates of nobles.

Every dwarf should have a hardcode, extremely specific soulmate and only ever fall in love if that soulmate happens to exist.
