At some point, you fell into a cave troll’s nest.  Thankfully, he was out at the time.  You did help yourself to a magic staff beside what appears to be some sort of wizard’s corpse.

Staff of monster detection:  You are told all players who actioned your target tonight.

Think:

The gods assist you in dispelling an evil ghoul that tried to attack you.  Somewhere on his person is a Scroll of Knowledge.  Useful.

Scroll of Knowledge:  You learn of all actions that target you tonight.  You do not know who performed these actions.

Person:

While looking for ingredients, you find a muddied scroll at the back of a side cave.

Scroll of Curse Weapon: If active, remove the effects of Scroll of Enchant Weapon. Otherwise, all of the target's kills have a 33% chance of failing.

Orangebottle:

While dissecting a giant rat for transmutable organs, you find a magic ring he ate at some time in the past.  Even better!

Ring of Warning:  At the end of the night, you receive a count of people that targeted you.

Dariush:

A cave troll ambushes you as you poke through a tunnel!  You easily dispatch it with your superior tactics and equipment.

In its belt is a wand that matches your scroll.  Well, now you have extra charges of that ability...

Wand of Swapping:  Choose two players.  All actions that would target one player target the other instead.

Simple:

You sneak up on a sleeping gnoll and steal a scroll from him!  It’s not like he was using it, right?

Scroll of Curse Armor: If active, remove the effects of Scroll Enchant Armor. Otherwise, kills directed towards the target have a 33% of being unblockable.

Max White:

The Jewel talks to you.  Tells you where to look.  Yes, a magic wand is there, behind that rock.  It will be useful to you.

WUBA:

While searching your pack for a sandwich, you come across one of your magic wands that you must have forgotten you brought!  That’ll be good.

You come across a scroll perched on top of a rock you climbed for a better vantage point.  Can you make use of it?

Darvi:

You pull out your staff and concentrate hard on Webadict.  A thin mist seeps from the end of the staff, and forms into the images of three faces- yourself, Think, and TolyK.  Looks like he was popular tonight.

While looking at the images, it suddenly gets hard to think.  Wha’s gong ob? Blub blug...

When you wake up, Max White is standing over you.  You can see the power flowing from him, and know deep down that you have been chosen as his second-in-command.  Such power!  It has even manifested in the form of a scroll in your hand!

You will serve Max White, and help him reunite the Emperor’s Jewel.


You have been converted to Max White’s team.  You now win when all players not aligned with you two are dead.  The survival of neither of you is required.

Think:

Invoking a quick prayer, you use your wand to cast a protective field over Webadict.  That should keep him safe for the night.


Mr.Person:

You sneak up behind Dariush and recite your scroll.  A black fog envelops him- looks like you succeeded!


OrangeBottle:

You decide to just spend the night sleeping.

When you wake up, you examine your Ring of Warning.  There are a series of small gems around it, that glow to indicate how many visits you had last night.

None are lit up- guess you aren’t interesting to people.


Dariush:

As you head to your safe place to sleep, a black fog envelops you.  When it clears, your weapon is stuck to your hand!  Looks like someone cursed it.


Simple:

As you get ready for bed, you chuck your scroll.

A strange dream consumes your night, in which Webadict stands over you, holding a gem over you as you sleep.  It glows, and power flows from him to you.  When the ritual is done, he smiles.

You awake with a start, and Webadict is standing over you, smiling.  The power is inside you, and it feels good.  You will serve Webadict, as he has chosen you.


You have been converted to Webadict’s team.  You now win when all players not aligned with you two are dead.  The survival of neither of you is required.

You complete the ritual, and stand over him.  He wakes up, and in his eyes is a glow of the power that now surrounds him.   He will serve you.


Webadict:

The one they call Simple shall be your ally.  You follow him to where he sleeps, and wait for him to go to sleep.  Pulling out your piece of the Jewel, you begin the ritual.  As the power flows to him, he tosses and turns, but does not awaken.  Finishing, you put away the Jewel and smile.  He wakes up, and acknowledges you.  You have a new ally, one whom you have given power.


TolyK:

The words of the scroll are recited, and you see a vision.  A vision of Simple- Webadict must be visiting him tonight.

Scum1, Darvi/Max White:


Both of you poke around the items in the floor to see what you can snag.  Darvi finds a wand, while Max finds a curled-up scroll stashed somewhere.

Darvi:  Wand of Swapping:  Choose two players.  All actions that would target one player target the other instead.

Max:  Oracle Scroll:  At the end of the night, you receive a list of all artifacts that are currently in the game.

Simple kills a couple goblins that ambushed him in a tight hallway, and finds a scroll on their remains.  Webadict looks in his pack again and finds another wand he forgot about!

Scroll of recharging:  All wands owned by target player gain two charges.  There is no limit to the number of charges a wand may have.  You may target yourself with this item.

Wand of probing:  Learn what items, if any, the targeted player has.

You pull a wand out from the grip of a skeleton.  He won’t be needing it!

A gnoll you were stalking drops a scroll.  You grab it and avoid the conflict.

TolyK:

You manage to find a treasure chest after searching all day!  Prying it open, you mostly find old junk.  One scroll catches your eye, though.

Scum:  Max/Darvi

Darvi pulls out his wand and concentrates on Webadict and Mr.Person while Max sneaks off into the night.  After a minute of concentration, he sees an image of a mystic link between the two of them.  Anything that targets one should affect the other now!

Max White heads toward Mr.Person.  He pulls out his scroll and recites the runes.  As planned, the scroll soon forms runes in the air:  “Webadict is Third Party.”  Well, how about that?


Scum:  Webadict/Simple

Simple, deciding to do nothing, heads off to get some sleep.  Webadict follows TolyK and zaps him with one of his wands.  Sure enough, TolyK vanishes, surrounded by many new doors.  That should keep him occupied tonight!


Think:

As before, you head toward Webadict and prepare to protect him with your wand.  As you perform the action, you realize you are protecting Mr.Person instead!  Oh well- at least protection is granted, right?  You discard your spent wand.


Person:

Heading toward Simple, you quietly zap him with your wand.  A list appears in your head:

Ring of Free Action    Scroll of Death    Scroll of recharging

Interesting.


Orange:

Shortly after you leave the group, you recite the words of the scroll you made.  You quickly vanish and appear in another part of the dungeon.  That should throw off anyone attempting to kill you!


TolyK:

A showdown with OrangeBottle appeals to you, so you get out your Scroll of Command to force him to you.  As you walk toward where he is hiding to compel him to you, you suddenly walk into a door that appears in front of your face!  You turn to walk around it, but there are doors everywhere- you’re surrounded!  Most are locked, but with quite a lot of time and effort, you get out from the doors.  At this point, it’s too late to do anything with OrangeBottle, so you give up and grab some sleep before the morning’s trials.

Simple:

While Darvi is distracted by the stoning, you take a moment to snatch a wand from his belt.  Hmm... looks like it only has one charge left.

Wand of Swapping:  Choose two players.  All actions that would target one player target the other instead.

Darvi/Max:

Instead of scrounging around the discussion site, you both head out to see what is in the greater part of the cave.  Both of you collect scrolls from a dusty corridor that has fallen into disrepair.

As you head off to your nightly tasks, Darvi notices that his Wand of Swapping is missing!  Well, that’s unfortunate.

Darvi:  Scroll of Paralysis    The target is blocked.

Max:  Scroll of Insight    The next time your target would be changed, it is not changed.

You’re not sure how a scroll can survive being shoved between two rocks like that without being destroyed.  It must be the inherent magic protecting it.  Nevertheless, it’s now yours.

Your master may be gone, but you still have the power he gave you.  Tonight, Mr.Person will feel your wrath.  You stride off confidently in his direction... and your head starts spinning.  You’re dizzy and confused... where are you going?

You are so confused that you don’t notice the doors appearing around you.  Your ring glows, and the doors open as you walk toward them- they can’t hold you back!

Finally, you come upon someone- isn’t that Person?  Your head clears long enough so that you can recite your scroll.  A blast of dark matter shoots out and blasts the person in front of you!  From the screams, you recognize the voice- that was TolyK!  Oops!

Your confusion wearing off, you head back to your safe place to wait until morning.


Max/Darvi:

Darvi pulls out his staff and concentrates on Mr.Person.  An image appears in the air, but it only of Darvi’s face.  It appears no one else visited him this night.

Max sneaks off and finds Simple in a hallway.  From behind a rock, he zaps his wand at Simple, who is immediately surrounded by doors.  Something odd happens- the doors seem to open when he approaches!  You don’t think you actually stopped him from his task.


Person:

You recite your scroll at Simple from a side hall.  He immediately begins walking into walls.  That’ll give some randomness to his walking direction!


OrangeBottle:

You recite the words of the scroll.  The runes on the scroll melt away and reform into a list of items!

If you haven't figured it out, Max and Webadict had the same role.  They were (technically) SKs who had a one-shot convert which granted the convertee a one-shot kill.  When the night ended, Max and Darvi had parity, which gave them the win.  There was no mafia.


Good game, everyone!  Hope you all enjoyed it.  Thanks to the replacements, especially Jim who never got a chance to say anything- sorry about that!
