(P.S: I'm not trying to be a dick by enforcing this rule, but it really does keep the game moving faster than a snail)

__________________________________________________________________________________

Follow the epic stories of people who are apparently pretty terrible at playing this game! (Not like anyone can actually be GOOD at DF) witness the pain, torture, and utter hilarity of adventurous morons in the world of the Windy Universes.

Critics are saying it was: "Fucking stupid..." "A complete waste of time and resources!" "Horrible on every level..." and "Inevitable..."

The Windy Universes... Coming to your computer whenever it's your turn, man.

So, yeah the [REVISED] rules are basically:______________________________

Up me sign!

I suggest that you make the first adventure a larcenous, freewheeling Kea man.

Since no one has given any more suggestions, and I think we should get the ball rolling at least a little bit faster. I'll take the first suggestion, and make the first adventure about a larcenous, care-free kea man named Michael Keaton, as he is a Birdman after all :P

I'd like to join in the fun. My first succession game of any sort, if so!

(will ninja this post with suggestions in an hour) I just went ahead and added a new post below, instead.

We shall wait on the creation of the adventure then, better to have a really funny combination, right?

And added!

I like the birdman suggestion, actually. But we're not just any old bird, we're a bird-man. We should have some dignity, and only steal noteworthy items, like the fingers of our foes crowns belonging to noteworthy dead people.

Why one adventurer why not have a different adventurer for each player... the world is persistant you can have a lot more interaction that way.

So just keep playing until you die or two weeks have passed, right? And if you survived, retire at the nearest town/site. Does sound a bit more fun that way, and keeps the flow of play a bit more... Flowing. Also makes it much more multiplayer-esque in a way, too.

Thanks for that suggestion, I think we'll do it that way, sounds better.

And yeah, I suppose, since we are close to being topped off with the number of players, I will start the game. I'm thinking about making a jumping spider man vigilante, with amazing climbing abilities. But I might just go with a maniac bard for right now.

Would it be possible to retire each adventurer in the same place, gradually building up a harem hardened party of adventurers? Whoever manages to survive tutors the new guy.

At any rate - even if we're not getting our turn for a week or more, toss up the world save once you have it, so we can go digging around in the legends viewer for interesting people and places!

I'll be sure to upload the save once I get to the game, and that sounds like an interesting idea, but I rather like the idea of figuring out where another person's character is. You can do it if you want to, but I don't think I'm gonna do it.

Are forts allowed in this world a-la "The Museum", so for example, if I die early or retire do we get a chance to build a fort for players to live in/adventure in?

The "DeathAngels" assassins guild will exist when I start, mark my words.
I know some tricks :P

You either create a new character or create a fort, but once your second character dies, we go to the next person.

Ill figure out a way to get a better one later
edit: Btw, I do like the way the world looks, I count 3 necro towers and saw a few libraries in legends. Hopefully one of them is in a human town.
It has plenty of goblin civs too, which means more angels...

Bepa Speakthrifty is a dwarven poet, storyteller, and swordsmen. He hails from Bal Perad, in the Kingdom of Voices. He is a bit cowardly, but he perseveres through the cowardice to try and be a hero, mostly for wealth, and to burn down forests. He takes kindly to craftsmanship, and loves to create art.

15th of Granite, 125, 9:15am

Ahh, today is going to be a fine day! (EPIC FORESHADOWING)
I write in this journal all of my exploits during my adventure, it shall be great!
Bal has given me a task to go and kill a horror lurking within Drilledclash, a tower about half a day's worth of travel to the northeast, it is said to be haunted by corpses of the damned! Bah, a walking corpse shant be too tough to defeat, it is falling apart already anyway, right? (FORESHADOWING INTENSIFIES)
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

15th of Granite, 125, 2:37pm

I stumbled upon a shrine of some sort, but as I crept closer, I heard the sound of metal scrapping against metal. As I grew even closer, I saw on the ground fallen worshipers! they were horribly mutilated, heads, arms, legs, whole torsos ripped from their conjoining parts. What could have done this?! I thought, the metal scrapping began growing louder, I started hearing low roaring around me. I was fearful, but determined... It got louder, louder, and even louder, until out of the shadows of the nearby forest came running a massive, towering bronze colossi!
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

I dared not try and fight it, so I ran for dear life as fast as I could out of there, I ran until I could run no longer. It was hours before I could not hear the earthshaking roars from the terrible automaton. I near the tower, tired, and frightened. Nothing could be worse than a bronze colossi, could it? (RAINBOW FORESHADOWING)

15th of Granite, 125, 10:58pm

The tower, finally!
It is dark, foreboding, and it is actually dark outside too. So that might be it. But yes, anyway, I walked towards the tower cautiously. The doors opened up... That's a lot of zombies, oh no, I did not expect THAT many. Get away! GET AWAY! ARGGHH! AHHH! (dead)

Zombies, lots of em!
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

My death announcements:
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

In hindsight, I probably shouldn't have gone for a necromancer tower to begin with :D

I'll create a new character tomorrow, and if he dies too, I'll pass it off too Urlance.

The goblin corpse punches You in the right lower leg with her left hand, fracturing the bone through the ramie robe.

See, this is why I don't like messing with zombies. If there's one thing DF necromancers have mastered, it's the art of preserving muscle tissue.

By the way, it might be a good idea to edit the OP to include links to the stories of dead (or surviving) adventurers in "The Memorial of Adventurers" and "The Hall of Not-deadness"

Happyslap, I think this (http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=154415.msg6653520#msg6653520) is the URL you meant to link to (goes directly to your post).

You can make links like that through the URL tag, by the way:

What are everyone's thoughts on updating to the new bug-fixed version? Being able to potentially enter Dark Fortresses and Cities without suffering the dreaded FPS-Death curse would be nice...

I'm not sure if we'd need to re-gen the world or not though.

Here's the first one. I'm now writing up the second account!

The Journal of Alonso Aliqui
I am Alonso Prospero Aliqui, yclept by civilized men "Ur Badale." This nom de guerre was necessary to conceal my nomadic origins. To further this end, I have spread tales of a kea-man fortress in the antarctic wastes. Numerous gulls (no, not that kind) have helped to make this an acknowleged "fact."

It was during a particularly racous festival that I slipped into the hamlet of Wealthysongs. When the debauchery finally stopped, I insisted that I'd made my introductions earlier, and that they were all too drunk to remember. Thus ashamed, they did not trouble me with my background. Their inebriation also provided a dandy cover for the items that I had purloined.

Now, I grow restless once more. I long for the thrill of performance, exploration, and larceny. I have decided to depart Wealthysongs, but not before acquiring some information from my fellow lodger (recorded below.)

I have departed! Such joy I feel!

What to do, what to do? I could try my hand at vampire-slaying. It's rather risky, but you never know.

Ah, a keep! Perhaps the hamlet of Fencecraters will be my next victim!

Oooh, horsies! I need some more food, not to mention weapon-practice.

Swooped down on them, but they didn't die quickly. I did kill an ostrich, though.

Talked to Heju Ukrobuh, the local lord. He seems like a nice enough chap. Not that that's going to stop me from fleecing him blind.

People I've talked to:
Quistra Pabatulet, Male Human Farmer (fellow lodger)
Heju Ukorbuh, Lord, Fencecraters

People of interest:
Human Vampire Gal Twinklethunder-Rosyhall
Ketas Anguishcounselled-Fencecraters
Places I've been:
Wealthysongs
Fencecraters

Place of interest:
Laudsmile-Town with criminal organization.
Dufotomer-Kobold Camp
Markbathes-Kobold-infested tomb.
Trichalmer-Kobold Camp
Thadabablorsnis-Kobold Camp
Stolenthreats-Bandit Camp
Wrungthief-Bandit Camp

It is with great sorrow that I report the death of Ur Badale. As he and I stood in my throne room, a swarthy young woman, clad in a makeshift uniform and carrying a silver two-handed sword, entered. At once, she bellowed "Opulent scum! Know that I, Cereni Yathacame, Lieutenant of the Emacipation of Plays, shall be your bane! The streets will run blue with your blood!"

Poor Ur was quite puzzled, so he did not join me in my strategic withdrawal, and I did not see what happened next. I did hear it, alas. The squawks that befell my ears were the most agonized I have ever heard. And then they stopped. Oh, that awful silence.

When the villagers entered the keep, the next day, the floor was a horrendous mess of blood and feathers. The floorstones will not loose their sanguine hue for many a moon.

Had it not been for Ur's heroic sacrifice, I would not have escaped with my life. For this I am eternally greatful. He will not be forgotten.

Very well-written, wish I could write like that, but oh well. More of a drawing artist than a writing artist.

Just a little PSA: If you finish your turn before you've finished writing up what happened, you should upload the save first so that the next player can get started while you write up what happened to you.

Yeah, ask him to at the very least post the save, and he can have his writeup up whenever he wants to. So we can keep things rolling :D

I do look forward to reading it, but don't wanna jeopardize the whole game by having to wait for it to be able to continue.

Thanks! It's a chronic condition, but it fluctuates, and I often find myself in the tricky position of either doing absolutely nothing (which is uncomfortably close to my usual itinerary) or doing something, but not knowing quite how it's going to turn out.

I'm all for more people joining in, myself, but we might want to set an upper limit (10?) on the number of people, or maybe switch to single-day turns.

Personally, I'm in favor of one-day (real time) turns myself. Keeps the game moving along, and people can always un-retire their adventurer if they don't have enough time to get much done during their turn. And with the one-day turns it becomes more likely that people might actually get multiple turns. Everyone so far has finished the playing portion of their turn in a single day anyways.

Thoughts, anyone? It's up to you at any rate, happyslap.

I concur with this. Especially since we can just move whoever can't play to the bottom of the list and since everyone gets 1 day, that person doesn't have to wait too long. If 1 day is too harsh I think a good compromise is 3 days.

I think a week is good, because players can create forts after they finish up their adventuring time for that turn, which makes the world better. And if you want truly great stories you need to play your adventurer for awhile and not everyone has a huge amount of free time.Remember we already have the 2-week in-game time limit.

I dont recall what "The Museum" used but 3 days is too harsh and 1 day is extremely harsh, especially if you need to go out into the woods and grind up your skills to survive for any decent amount of time. I think we should stick with week long turns. Sure it will take awhile, but we get better stories that way.I know i personally in the new version can spend a embarrassingly long time fine tuning my chars personality, and that is even before starting the game properly.

WE should however make sure people are playing their turns, and if they dont, skip them.

edit:
just checked, they had 1 week, just like us.

I'm gonna think it over, we should stay with week long, but one day adventures definitely have their advantages. I'm gonna try and rework the framework to try and include both as options. If I can't find a way to include both, I think we should go with 4 day turns as a comprimise, long enough to make a good story, and short enough to not be a slog to wait through.

I'd favour 3 days myself. I understand Untrustedlife's concerns, but in my opinion keeping up the momentum is worth the potential drop in update quality. More often than not, it is inactivity that kills succession games, not bad turns.

Personally, I feel that 3 days is more than enough to play the required 2 weeks in-game adventuring. If the player is quite busy though, he can just play up to whenever he can and retire to continue another day. Meanwhile a free player might have extra time left, so he can go start a fortress or another adventurer, so long as he stays within the 3 day turn limit.

In regards to the concerns of not being able to get anything done in 1 turn, perhaps we could impose a rule where you can't use other player's retired adventurers? That way, if he wants, a player can focus his entire first turn on grinding, and can later make use of them in future turns. This turns the story into a running saga relating to the adventurer, and is more realistic than a peasant becoming a Legendary Wrestler within the space of 2 weeks just because he strangled a horseshoe crab repeatedly.

I don't think so. You can't compose a poem/song about a specific topic, only in a specific style.

You can tell stories about specific things, but trying to filter for your name doesn't turn anything up. I was trying to tell the story of the forgotten beast I slayed in another save, but couldn't find any way to do so besides the classic incident report dialogue.

You can choose topics when you write a book in adventure mode.

You can also select any intelligent creature you killed (for the most part) and then tell a story about how you killed them with the "tell story" dialogue option as-well.

OK, I've found out you can tell tales of your exploits by telling the story of a *site* and then choosing the event where you killed someone there.

I feel like that menu has a lot of information that probably shouldn't be known by the player... O_o

At any rate, if there's an easier way, I'd like to hear it!

I think, to keep things going, we are going to go with 3 day turns if you plan on just adventuring, and a week if you plan on making a fort.

Seems like it'll work out better this way, I will probably write up rules tomorrow for those who want a fort, and those who just wanna adventure.

I'll think about it, but 3 would make it a bit more fast paced, and we can have 2 turns done in a week instead of only 1,  though I am keeping the week long turn for those who want a fort instead, or wanna adventure and make a fort.

Basically what I'm saying is, just don't go further than 4 days, I would rather it be 3, but as long as you don't go over 4, you're fine.

After much deliberation, my adventure as a wild boar-man hammerer begins! Tired of the dwarves of my homeland never producing properly sized clothing, I have struck out on my own. I hope to find fame, glory, and clothes made of something other than the rather insultingly named 'pig tails' my current garments are. They were all a passing trader had on hand, and I've been wearing them for too long by far.

Dwarven hospitality left much to be desired.

I am Udib Granitelands, the Crimson Tattoo. Written here is the mark I leave upon the world, and the marks it leaves on me.

The next portion of my writeup is conning soon, but in the meanwhile I just realized that I have tusks and a tail now, and I don't know if my armor covers them.

I hope that doesn't bring me too much fun...

Given the size of a wild boar tail, you should be fiiiine. Unless you want to ask the nearest dwarven outpost for some docking. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Docking_%28animal%29)

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

As I arrived at Trimmedtrusted, a human hamlet, I was attacked by a human spearman. I tried to run at first, but they pursued. It is becomming clear to me that improving my endurance will be important. Running was never a strong suit of mine, and I no longer have as much advantage in size as I did among the dwarves. Yet this spearman was still intimidated by me when I at last turned to face him.

He ran without even exchanging a blow. I'll have to track him down some time and ask him why he drew weapons and came at me like that if he was so terrified of me. Perhaps it was my ugly face that scared him off, and he couldn't see it from behind or afar. At any rate, I learned his name, Stama Gladnessmirrors, shortly after arriving at the local lord's keep.

I also met a human maceman, Ero Shebiitke, while there. He was quite the lazy sort, inclined to wandering, and half as ugly among humans as myself. We struck up some common ground around that last point. It was still a surprise to me, though, when he agreed to let me raid the armory. I suppose he was more frustrated with the lord and his fellow guardsmen than I'd thought!

There was but one condition - I had to wrestle a boar. I confess, I nearly left him there. I was tired of such jokes. But the poor fool seemed sincere. He had grown up on a farm, he told me, and had always had trouble with managing the things. I suppose it was a small price to pay for a full set of armor and some better fitting clothes.

We left the village heading east, and it wasn't long before we found our share of my more distant kind, though we had to avoid several flocks of horrifyingly massive birds along the way. Ero amused himself by taking a few cheap shots with his fists and mace while I wrestled the brutes, until I made him wait by a tree nearby. He was swinging that thing way too close to my face for comfort.

We didn't have any luck finding a tavern for drinks that night. The nearest seems to be quite some distance away. Instead we camped in the outskirts of yet another hamlett, this named Routgorged, and ate some of the meat from our hunt. We spent most of the next day wandering through the town, me asking around about the area, and my new traveling companion asking after local colossi and titans and Armok knows what else. As we were walking through the village, we met a woman who Ero seemed to know. He got into an argument with this Urdim, a rather attractive, dark skinned woman. As best I could tell they'd been lovers at some point, though Ero had left rather suddenly. After shouting at one another for some time, while I tuned them out, Urdim drew a crossbow and shot him in the leg! Startled, I drew my weapons and prepared to fight, but as Ero crawled hurridly out of sight Urdim explained that her business was finished here. She didn't want any more trouble.

When asked about Ero, she said in a sad tone, "he was a good talker." She went on to explain how she'd had no family, grown up on the street, and eventually been taken under the wing of the overlord Innu Findersgilt. Ero had meant something to her once, and she'd been about to give up that life. But the moment he found out about her history as a bandit, he tried to turn her in. She barely escaped the guards.

I asked if she'd like to come with me, to try to talk to Ero and work things out, but she shook her head, saying "my duty is here".

I wished her the best, though I doubted there was any happy ending left here, and turned to follow the bloodstained trail Ero had left.

"You didn't kill her?" he asked, looking at my unstained hammer. I grunted in reply as I pulled him up and supported his weight, beginning to walk the rest of the way out of the city. "Would you prefer I had?" I asked. "It sounded like you two had some history together."

"It's all for naught, now." He shook his head sadly, then looking at his leg, where the bolt was stuck, he winced. "It was ineviteable. My own damn fault for letting my mouth run when it shouldn't."

I nodded, taking in what he'd said. "You didn't betray her, then, like she said?"

"Hells no, not intentionally, at least. I can see how she would believe otherwise though, and when it comes down to it, it doesn't really matter if it was intentional or not. It's still my fault, and she'd still blame me for outing her.

A little while further and we stopped by a creek to remove the arrow, as well as bandage and clean the wound.

"I sure wish we'd made it to that tavern before I got shot," Ero spoke, as I set him down. "A good pint would help a lot right now."

I chuckled as he said that. Pulling out a small flask, I said "You're in some luck, you know. I've lived with dwarves for just about my whole life. When I announced my plans to leave on an adventure, this is the one thing they all agreed I needed to bring along."

"You've been holding out on me!"

"Just saving it for when it was most needed." I tossed it over to him, and he began greedily tearing at the stopper. "You can drink two thirds, I'll need the rest to treat your wound when I remove the arrow."

When he was done with that, he stared sadly at what was left, and looked to regret not finishing it off. "Wish you'd let me have the whole thing. I'm not nearly drunk enough for this."

It was a good thing I hadn't started working yet, as I nearly fell over laughing.

"Ey! What's sho funny?"

"That was a dwarven brew. Trust me, in a moment you'll be about as drunk as I can get you without burning a hole through your liver."

"Well, maybe I wahnt a hole in my livah! It'd sooo... soot... It'd match the rest ov me!"

"All right, we can take care of that tomorrow then."

As Ero grew less and less coherent, I began my work.

Despite the alcohol, he screamed like a piglet. 'Then again,' I mused, 'most do.'

First Update:

Diary Entry #1

Hello diary I am Mel Rulaciki, and i have always dreamed of being a great bard...
My family never truly appreciated my..obvious.. talent for music, and my friends even less so, no one ever took me seriously, so i said "screw this" to the entire concept of family and friendship...

......even my dearly departed mother always said i couldn't be one.

"Melvin why can't you just be a warrior like your brother..."
"Oh little Melvin, go learn a real skill..."
"Oh Melvin its okay, maybe music just isn't for you..."
"Oh don't worry Melvin, come give your mother a hug..."
Bitch

But i will prove mother wrong... I will prove them all wrong... and anyone who gets in my way will be DESTROYED..err i mean taught the true value of music..jeez i need to lay off on all that drinking...

Hmph, its for the best.

Anyway, I am from a hamlet in "The Submerged Hill" known as Rootnestled, boring place, nowhere to drink or show off my brilliant talent, except the local mead hall, and they don't think i will ever be a good bard.....just like mother did.....rest in peace..mother....

Update 2:
Diary Entry #2

Dear diary, today in honor of my leaving this accursed boring unappreciative shithole they call a village, i have composed a poem called the "Organized Sky".

Quote
This is a *poem* all writing is quite clearly of the highest quality it is about culture and why I am cultured and every fricken other person in this village isn't.

They called me "middling" and "fine" ha, they have no real appreciation of music, it was a masterpiece!

Good riddance you uncultured fools.

"Is it time to make music?" she asks, i can feel the condemning sarcasm in her voice, bah!

I made sure to spit at her before i left.

You would think a noble would  at least have a little appreciation for the arts.. . but i guess no one in this village  is immune to the uncultured disease that has overtaken them.

Before leaving i contracted a mercenary to defend me and my precious music from the uncultured fools and unintelligent creatures who infest this Escu-forsaken region.

As we were traveling, I played music to my captive audience, he said i was talented, but i know this uncultured brute is just saying that because I am paying him...
I must find someone who can truly appreciate my art....

I was right, this ...pond scum... didn't appreciate art.
Luckily due to my immense charisma i was able to convince him to capitulate.
If only mother would have been as appreciative.

Ugh...mother...

That doesn't make this brute any less of an uncultured pond-scum  though.
If he were truly worthy of being called cultured i wouldn't have had to convince him in the first place. Ha
I just hate him a little less now.

So off I go with my newly acquired and  apparently newly enlightened slave...err..guard to the nearest city, in order to prove to the unenlightened rabble of this region the value of my poetry and music!

(sorry for it being a little light, christmas was busy so i haven't had a chance to write paragraphs, i just needed to show i was playing) More (and better) updates tomorrow.

One way we could work this in is to add a single "fortress turn" after every 10 or so adventure mode turns. I'll admit i'm not very well versed in fortress mode and what can be accomplished in a week, though. The point would be to develop a fortress for the sake of future adventurers, not for the sake of the fortress itself.

(PS sorry for the huge delay! I lost my notes and had to do some digging through the save file to pull out some details.)

And a relatively large amount can be done in a week, although I'm sure other people would be better at large amounts of progress in a week than me, but I do know that building a tower with a couple small buildings would not be too difficult, nor would it take more than a day or two IRL. I cannot say how long it would take in-game however.

Not too long actually, depending on:
1. Starting site
2. Initial supplies

Assuming the best possible starting site (shallow metal+flux+volcano+safe) I'd say by year two in-game, you'd already have everything you need, including steel to sell to adventurers.

Honestly, I've never even seen a volcano.

But yes, you could do it, unless you miss-manage everything.

Like I tend to do.

*Le sigh*

Also, lave flooding. Lava flooding would be everywhere.

Quick question: What would happen if we extinctified the world? Would we quit the run, or would we regen a new world, using modding magic to bring in trophies from the past world(s)?

Terrapin's turn has gone on for 4 days with no answer, I'm gonna pm him, if he doesn't reply by the end of today, we skip to the next person on the list.

Question, can you mash 2 worlds together from 2 different save games somehow?

That way we could have 2 turns going at once.

No, we can't mix worlds, but we should be able to re-create locations and artifacts, using a bit of DFhack-magic.

Of course, that requires a total description of the artifact, and a detailed map of what you're recreating.

Thanks for the info, I should probably try to work out a way for more than 11 to play at once.

Maybe we could have 2 different timelines? (Two of the same save, but different people playing on both, sounds like it'd be complicated, but fun nontheless)

After all, it's not the Windy Universe, it's the Windy Universes. Could make for an interesting little gimmick of sorts.

All unnamed populations in the world (even regional animal populations) are tracked and most people you kill become "important" after their deaths. So it is 100% possible to kill the world. People got to remember df is more a world simulater then a game.

You can even cause extinctions If you work hard enough easier to pull off with a fort. (Causing local "giant wolverine" populations to go extinct is even easier since they have smaller populations (sometimes only 10 - 20 of them exist in a region.sometimes less)

His four days were up, with no answer. So I skipped him :/

He can, however still get a turn, he might have to wait a bit, but I might add another list so that we can have three timelines. 5 players per timeline seems like it would keep the game moving pretty quickly.

Only problem is that it would become quite a beast to manage/admin.

Our story begins in the desolate tundra hamlet of Pointedislands. Stranded at the edge of civilization, beyond which are the coldest of tundras. The nearest village is at least a day's walk away. The few brave ones who live here eke out their survival by hunting and fishing on the beach -- at least when the waves aren't frozen solid. Nothing grows here.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Our protagonist is a young female goblin. She's a redhead, and like all goblins, she doesn't need to eat or drink. Pretty advantageous in a place like this. She would think of herself as a talented poet, but in reality she's probably middling. Years of hard toil has given her a reasonably muscular build, but then again so do most of the human villagers. This is a cold unforgiving place. Only the hardy survive.

Being one of the village hunters, she is a competent bowman. In reality she fancies herself as an elf, waxing lyrical and raining arrows upon her enemies atop a giant war panther. There weren't any elves in the area though. Humanity was a distant second. But it was probably better than the dark fortresses of her kind, which was cramped, packed, and not-at-all encouraging to creative pursuits.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

She was a rather unconventional goblin for most standards, being generally not-a-horrible-person to spend time with. Still, you can't escape your own blood. Ruling the world? Not a bad idea.

Our story begins here...

"Really? You expect me to perform a piece just for you?"
Ricdil grinned, "Well I have to make sure you're good enough. Don't want to be travelling the world with a half-assed poet."
"You already know how good I am, Ric. You've seen me perform before," I grumbled. "This is just a cheap grab so you can make fun of my Rrrr's again."
"Maybe. But you have to admit, your Rrrrr's R pretty funny." He cackled away as he evaded my punch. "Come on Sit. One performance, then I'll go with you on your world tour thing."

I gave him a glare.

"One performance."
"Yep."
"And not a word about my accent."
"We calling it an accent now? Alright alright..."

Well that was fast...

I am Raqui, called Ra by those who know me. I was born in a no-name village belonging to the Kingdom of Women. As a peasant and moreover, as a man, I could only ever hope to be a second-class citizen here.

Thus, despite my better judgement, I chose to strike out from the place of my birth and seek my fortune in the wilderness. I had always been fascinated by the paintbrush of nature and I wished to see to more of it. Alas as my broken corpse now lies before me, such possibilities lie unfulfilled.

My story is short and full of woe. I wanted to explore the unknown places of the world and capture their beauty in verse. I was taught to read and write from the traveling poets that often visited our mead halls. There I went first, to seek their council and good favor. There I saw goblin poets and dancers brutalized and maimed. There, I was forever changed. I was unaware of the violence of this world. Now I look upon my own mangled body and cannot help but laugh.

For you see, listener, even then, it was inevitable. I tried to impress these great poets with recitations of my people's poetry. They patronized me. And the stench of blood combined with their condescension was too much, and I left. I asked several of the guards for protection, I offered them money. They refused. They did not wish to travel with a peasant, uncultured in the ways of the world. I went with bitterness, they wanted strength. Strength I would give them.

I traveled west to the sea, hoping to glimpse it before I traveled further east. It was a beautiful sight and inspired in me the urge to put the scene in verse. I wrote a pretty couplet in the style of my people. I went back to the town and recited my short poem. It was well received. I had hoped someone would therefore join me. But...alas, my poetry was not enough to inspire companionship. Again I left in bitterness.

I went back to the sea. A flock of albatross caught my eye. I felt peckish and I had, by this time, run out of the squid meat which I initially set off with. I grabbed one of the birds and after a lengthy tortuous hunt, killed and ate it. By this time I had become quite proficient in battle. I set off for a neighboring mead hall, hoping my new skills would garner a hearthship. I suited my self in full mail and this time was able to convince a guard to join me in my plight. Then we went and petitioned the Lady of the hall. She refused me. She laughed in my face.

Desperate, I requested to be an entertainer of her hall. I recited another of my poems. She laughed. Oh ye gods, she laughed in my face! So I drew my spear and pierced her skull. The force was not strong enough and to my dismay, my companion switched sides at my sudden rage. He drew his hammer and came at me. I destroyed him, easily. I went out, my bloodlust not yet sated. I wanted the Lady's head as a trophy. Then a sudden misstep led me into the spear-point of one of the guards. He shattered my leg, then my head.

There I lie now. Despite all my strength...I am broken...

That's okay, did I say earlier that people can play fortresses for a week? If not, I'm probably going to make that a new rule.

EDIT: Actually since we can do two people at once, I might just reinstate the weeklong turns instead, if no one objects?

Spoiler: Forgot this poem (click to show/hide)

The Gloved Whips

I know a game, that women play
That make men, into game
Soft gloves, turned into whips
To keep the men away!
But foolish lovers do ye see?
Ye hunting with fever fervor
What ye hunt, hunts thee!
White hands upon thy brow
Soft gloves, turned into whips
Drive thee not like men, but cows!

Listen now, of the game
That make men into play
Soft gloves, turned into whips
Seem as sunlight in the May
But as ye hunt those hands of hers
She tames thee as a dog
They teach tricks! But they the curs!
Holding, using, and abusing those
Soft gloves, turned into whips
That drive thee to farming, and they the hoes!

Doubt me not, nor doubt
The game which women chase
Soft gloves, turned into whips
Turned to turn thee out!
Faces fair and seem fair to eye
Ye think ye might win this game
Beware! Her fickle's as fair as die
And thy heart, ante she gambols with.
Soft gloves, turned into whips
That's all they are, in their pits and pith

Once I saw, a farmer hunt
He took up the bow and sought
Soft gloves, turned into whips
He really wanted a wet...kiss
But his lady's heart was stone
She took his land, but kept her lips
But better hunted, then ever alone
For the hunt keeps men sane
Soft gloves, turned into whips
Gives a kind of pleasureable pain

Aye, perhaps I am too old
Aye, perhaps too bitter too
Soft hands, turned into whips
Cannot anymore, make me bold
But my age means that I know
And the bitter has a base
Or maybe it doesn't, so?
These verses still ring true
Soft gloves, turned into whips
Still make men black and blue

Oh tell me not! Of your wives
Of women fair, of women true
Soft gloves, turned into whips
Are to your gentle spirits, knives
Ye shall bleed as gutted fish
Give it days, give it years
Aye some do live and die in bliss
But most die in traps
Soft gloves, turned into whips
Around thy neck and hands, wraps

Ye are furs in the stalls
Ye are meat in the markets
Soft gloves, turned into whips
Shall gall thee, give thee galls
Hunt not, or be hunted.
Thy game shall make thee game
Still, perhaps tis enough to be wanted
To lose the hunt, but love it still
Soft gloves, turned into whips
Sharpens the wit, toughens the will!

Aye, no maid, will look on me now
No love, may stir my breast
Soft gloves, turned into whips
Are only bygone vows
But the young must give chase
Run forever for the game
Or like me, death, embrace
Run, ye still-whole-hearts!
Soft gloves, turned into whips
Be at thy backs, forever smart

Aye, the hunt takes life
But gives life its spice!
Soft gloves, turned into whips
Is the sweet with the strife!
Hunt on ye, surefooted shooters
Run wild for thy prize
They are seeking suitors
But shy not from their arrows
Soft hands, turned into whips
Only to see your marrow!

Yeah, but correct me if I'm wrong, aren't both our saves directly following from Untrustedlife's (Turn 5)? Since that is where the timeline split happened, should it not be 6a and 6b, following from 5, since that is where the timeline 'split' happened? Prior to that it was just a single timeline: 1 > 2 > 3 > 4 > 5.

It's all rather odd and confusing (the turn numbers) right now, that's just what I'm saying.

The man appeared pretty despondent that I was unable to help.

“Sorry about your problems. But I’m no adventurer; just a traveling poet,” I told him with sympathy.
He waved me into silence. “No, no, don’t worry about it. It’s just that you seem pretty familiar with that bow of yours. Thought you could help us, that is all.” He sighed. “I guess you’ll be on your way now.”

I scratched my head, and tried to think like a human.

“Well… I could go talk to this goblin of yours?”
“Hah! That’s a good one, lass.”
“Sometimes they just need someone to talk to, that’s all. Gets pretty depressing with all the snow around here.”
“Nah. Trust me, this one’s beyond any talking.”
I shrugged, “Alright then.”

“Whatever for?”
“Some criminal gone loose. Apparently shot someone just for saying hi. Think about it, you’re just going about your business, giving someone a wave, and then twaaaaang!~ Surprise arrow in your kidneys!”

The man guffawed at his own joke. I twiddled my thumbs nervously, with guilt leaking through every pore of my face. “Well, err, course what that criminal did was absolutely wrong, but, umm... let’s not try to jump too hastily to conclusions, aimrite?”

“Eh, don’t mind them,” said Birod the weaponsmith. “Bunch of lazy-ass slackers who’d rather sit around shooting gammys all day. You two shouldn’t joke about things like this. My eyes widened. “Reaaaalllly?”

As if on cue, the door burst open in dramatic fashion.
“SITSU COLOREDBLIZZARD!” roared the huge unshaven figure in the doorway. “FIVE FEET HIGH, CARMINE HAIR, TERRIBLE POETRY & HAS AN ARCHER’S BOW!”

He flicked rapidly through a tiny little notebook.
“Seems to fit the description.”

“Actually, I don’t.”
And with that, I sprinted out.

“GET BACK HERE!” he roared through a field of blueberries. His outstretched arms almost got me, but I’d hit the ground running, and had the lighter gear. Gradually, I began to pull ahead.

Then I ran for the bloody hills.

I didnt finish update 4, but here is update 3. Ill get update four up soonly.

Mel Rulaciki Update 3:
Diary Entry #3

Now that I am away from my 'village' if you can call that ghetto a village, I have calmed down a bit and I have had time to reflect on my past.

...DAMN YOU MOTHER!!!!!!!

I'll be honest, there was one 'good' thing about my 'village' the only good thing about the 'village' i grew up in is that rumors went through the town all the time, so I learned a bit about the outside world.
When I was younger I heard of a city not far off which has a tavern in which i could show off my poetry and music.
Its not too far out if I remember correctly, only about a week from my village. And we have already been traveling for a couple days, this is where I have decided I want to go, if anybody would understand culture its city dwellers, city dwellers are far more cultured then the pond scum that infests the outlying villages, at least  that's my hope..
I believe the place was called "Oceanpassage" which is admittedly a great name for a city which means the founders at least had some sense for the arts perhaps there is hope yet.
Hopefully people will appreciate my art there if they don't I might crack ...the "nature" that surrounds me and my companion as we travel is starting to get to me... and the "people" we come across are even worse.

There is a small note scribbled underneath this passage

OUCH!!!

I have become covered in thorns from this "nature" ugh if only i didn't have to walk, i think me and my art deserve to be carried everywhere i go perhaps my guard would be willing.

Mother never carried me when i was a child.......

My guard, who I recently found out was a women (you learn alot about people when you fall asleep in the same room) refused. Saying I should be the one carrying her, but that I am too weak and spindly...(seriously lady I couldn't even tell you were a women at first, just a big strong brute as far as I am concerned)...I complained to her that if I am so weak and spindly, why couldn't she carry me. She just laughed in my face.

The passage continues in normal handwriting from here

We travelled for about a day, nothing of note happened after that.

When it started getting late we stumbled upon a hamlet in which a brute by the name of "Canar Amecanstrid" has a home, he welcomed us into his home for the night something about "Bogeymen".
I have heard about bogeymen in the past..creatures that come out at night and shout incessant insults at their prey, before ripping it to shreds....something this brute no doubt deserves. But at least he welcomed us into his home.

I decided to practice my Rushan playing before going to bed for the night, it was a masterful solemn tune about the death of culture.

My guard enjoyed it and I checked to see if canar enjoyed it , of course he didnt, he fell asleep listening to it...not that I am surprised by this anymore, the rabble of this world does not understand culture or music, or anything else that truly matters.

With a sigh I fell asleep.

“Helloooo? Is anyone home?”

Strange. This place looks deserted. I make my way up the upper stairwell, cracked with age and dust.

Ooh. Loot.
*looks around*
Well I guess nobody will notice…

Damn, this is one nice sword.
Nice buckler, too.
You know, I think it’s time to replace my bow.

Wonder how much more can I carr-

-oh.

“I was just, err, looking around,” I ended lamely.
“Really”. The woman sounded mildly amused.
“Y-yeah. Not a thief, trust me! Just a poet. You can have your stuff back if you want!” My plundered loot was hastily dropped onto the floor.

The hammerwoman cocked an eyebrow. She shrugged.
“No, take it. Too much junk piling up this place. Good luck carrying them all though.”

With that, she turned around and went back down the stairwell. I paused momentarily, before grabbing my equipment and running downstairs.

“Say, why is this place so empty?” I asked when I’d caught up with her.
“All off to fight wars they cannot win. Wars from which they will not return.”
“That sounds pretty sad.”
“No. No its not. It’s stupid and idiotic, that’s what it is."

She turns around with folded arms and gives me a good look.

"What’s a goblin doing out in the far north?”
“Eheh. Actually trying to get out of the far north. I’m going south. Like I told you, I’m a poet.”
“Says just about everyone these days. Any good?”
“Hell yeah. I’ve just composed one that day itself! Here, hold my stuff.”

You conclude your performance.

“So, this entire poem was about you killing your entire village.”
“In a sense, yes,” I responded guiltily. “What do you think?”

“Hey!”
“What?”
“You can’t just go around calling people’s performances boring. That’s like, the ultimate insult you can ever give to a struggling artist.”
“Are you struggling?”
“Wha- no, of course I’m not struggling!”
“Then you’re fine. Besides, you probably do need to work on the ‘artist’ part”. She was smirking lightly.
“That’s it," I growled. "I'm leaving."

With a brisk march, I made for the large oaken double-doors. The nerve of some people...

“Hold up. I’ll drop you off south to wherever it is you’re going.”
“I never asked you to join me!”
“Yeah, you’re not going to last a day out in the Erased Swamps. Struggling poets don’t tend to do.”
“HEY! I can take care of myself just fine.”
“You don’t even know how to use that sword you're holding.”

I realised that I didn't.

“…N-no”. I rallied, “But they say it’s kinda like wielding a bow...?”
“Hah, good one. Let’s go, it’ll be dark by the time we reach Lockedelder.”

Lockedelder was the southernmost of the northern settlements. Beyond that was a wide expanse of wilderness – the Erased Swamps. Past that, proper civilization was at least a week’s regular travel away.

“We will rest here for the night,” Rislu tells me. “In the morn, we will make the journey across the wilds.”

I grumbled, “Still don’t see what’s so dangerous about this swamp you’re talking about.”
“Tell you about it tomorrow, okay?”

I waited by the fields as Rislu went looking for a room, and watched as gentle rain pitter-pattered upon the ground, blown slightly by a cool breeze coming in from the east. The trees were ripe with both fruit and the blossoms of spring. Back in Pointedislands, spring had been decidedly chilly. Humming to myself, I began composing a new work.

Rain, fruit and cold winds,
Spring awakens from this ground,
Sitsu travels south.

“Hey, come on. I’ve found ourselves a place to stay.”
“Hang oonnn… can’t you see I’m doing something?”
“Night is falling, Sitsu. You had better stay indoors, lest the boogeymen come and get you.”
“You’re disrupting my creative vibes. Just a few more minutes, mmkay?”

3 hours later...

This is the Erased Swamps, gateway to the southern realms. To make it through, one either has to brave the dark pits of the Evil of Tormenting, or to come within range of the necromancer’s tower Matchscuffled.

“I’d pick goblins. At least goblins won’t try to eat my brains out.”
“For once, I agree with you. Though it doesn’t mean we should relax our guard; goblin lands aren’t exactly the safest place to be in.”
“Rislu, I’m a goblin.”
“Think I haven’t noticed? All I’m saying is that don’t expect your kindred to give you a free pass. Never know when they’re going to stab you i-“ Rislu suddenly froze. “Get down!” she hissed.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

“Yep, we’re all highly dangerous beasts waiting to tear your guts out,” I muttered sarcastically after the goblin had fled past us.
Rislu had a worried expression on her face as she got up. “Strange. You don’t normally see goblins acting like that.”
“Don’t sweat it. We do it all the time; it’s just that the screaming is usually internal.”

Three hours into our wandering trek, we spot a towering structure up ahead.

“Dark tower,” whispered Rislu. I brightened up.
“Good. Maybe there’s someone in there that we can ask for directions. The way I see it, we’re either hopelessly lost, or we’re taking the scenic route.”
“What? No! Come back! They’re going to chop our legs off!”
“… you’ve got some serious goblin issues, mate,” I muttered darkly as I headed towards the tower, unheeding of Rislu’s calls.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

“Heya! My name is Sitsu! What’s youewaa-”

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

“-ah shit.”

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

“So? Got anything useful?” shouted Rislu from beyond the trench.
“RUN!”

Her look was as bewildered as it got, until she too saw the moaning abomination shuffling out from the tower’s gates.

“SHIT! RUN, GODDAMNIT!”
“That’s exactly what I said!” I yelled indignantly as Rislu sped past me with frankly inhuman speed.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Pant, pant, pant.

“Okay. Now we’re hopelessly lost,” muttered Rislu.
“Well, luckily…” I waved a gesture over at the horizon. Rislu’s gaze followed my hand to the two new dark towers on the horizon.
“Nooo. Again?
“Movement on the parapets. Can you see if it’s alive or dead?”

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

“Looks alive to me. Appears to be a goblin, I think.”
“You think?”
“I’m not entirely sure what a rotting hulking goblin corpse is supposed to look like, Sitsu. Your skin’s pretty green enough as it is.”
I was still panting. “Alright, I’ll go pay them a visit.”

This tower was definitely inhabited. There were several goblins milling around its base; they offered me a friendly wave. Grinning widely, I waved back.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

“Can you tell me the way out of this place?”
“You’re not too far from the southern exit. Just follow that direction, where the brook is."

As I looked around, there was a rising cacophony of sound from the tower below. Already, a mass of goblins had gathered around the trenches, all armed with shields and rusty metal weapons. Ngerxung leaned from over the fortifications and gave me a nervous grin.

“Hope you’re not planning on fleeing, eh? Cause you know, we can win this thing. Just have to stick together, we goblins. Then they won’t be able to get our brains.”

Suddenly, a loud battle horn sounded. He turned around with fear set in his eyes. “The living dead! They’re closing in from the north!”

Several of the goblins raised their weapons in joy, others cowered amidst the shadow of the tower. It was a uniquely goblin thing – driven to kill by your bloodlust, driven to survive by your internal screaming. I, on the other hand, had to flee. I had to warn Rislu.

When I saw her, I shouted, “Corpses! From the North! RUN!” Her eyes registered my words, and within seconds we were fleeing south as fast as our feet could take us.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

We both sprinted across deep trenches and uneven terrain. The ground was littered the evidence of previous battles – dropped weapons and bolts stuck out of the mud. Before long, I could hear their dying screams beyond the horizon. The dying screams of goblins. It struck me that I too did not know how a dead rotting goblin looked like. It had been too long since I spent any sort of time with my own kind.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

The terrain finally gave way to flat ground. I collapsed unto the floor, exhausted, yet in all honesty relieved to be alive. Giddy with adrenaline, I turned towards my companion.

Spoiler: ...Rislu? (click to show/hide)

It is dark. It is cold.

Night has fallen.

Rising from the woodwork, cackling screams and twisted forms. They danced amongst the shadows. They came. I ran.

Voices in my head. Voices somewhere. Telling me that I should accept my death. Succumb to the night, child.

No.

“Stay back!” I yell, waving the sword in front of me. From the shadows, I still hear them cackling, still see them dancing. My bravery wavered fast. I realise that Rislu was right all along – that I had no clue how to use the weapon I was holding in my hands. So I fled once more.

They were everywhere. The voices in my head, they tell me it is inevitable. I glance backwards in fear. I see their demonic forms in the dark. They are in close pursuit.

I cannot take it anymore. I fall. There is water in my lungs, in my nose, in my mouth.

It was inevitable.

Goddamnit.

This was the perfect bloody storm. First I lost my only companion, in a vast area where there's no safe settlements. Sure, no problem, I thought. I'll just sleep on beaches. Worked for the first day; then came the second day. Clouds, clouds everywhere. I couldn't tell what time was it, whether it was close to dark or not. When I finally emerged from cloud cover, it was evening. The closest beach was at least half a day away. No mountains.

Darn luck.

I had good plans for Sitsu too. Was genuinely enjoying my adventure and the storyline that I was making up in my head. Boogeymen screwed it all up. I will avenge her -- next time it's my turn, the night had better watch out.

Fortress coming up next. Stay tuned!

Almost forgot about linking it, thanks for reminding me.

Also, now that I think about it, I might make another list of players, and split everyone up a bit more so that we can go back to week long turns, it might strangely make it a bit easier to manage, since I won't have to do it as often.

Ok I'm going to go ahead and hand over the save. I built the basic infrastructure for the adventurer hangout. Haven't filled it with equipment and booze yet (couldn't find any flux stone sadly, so will have to import it). Hopefully the next overseer can unretire and finish the job.

The hangout/fortress is named: Geshudoshosh/Fortresshermits

Today I was out at the market and I saw a big old slab in the mud. It was made of brimstone and almost blended in.

.....What.

How did that end up there?!
A necromancer died in Parchedthorn before he could go and make a tower or even move into a bandit camp. His slab was lost there. I found it.

I leave the slab where it lies. I may be strong, but not strong enough to carry around a hundred-pound hunk of stone all day.

I'm sure to be kicked out of town when everyone finds out, so I'm leaving before that can happen. I help myself to the armor in the keep, getting myself a mix of bronze and iron gear. There's no helm and it slows me down a bit, but I need protection. I also switch out my old guard shield for a nice iron one. No replacement for my sword, though, cheap oversized thing that it is.

Before I go, though, I stop by the old catacombs.

I can't exactly help a lot of people with a huge zombie army. But what I can do is kill old Sebir, the forest titan who lives to the south.  He's never killed a human, but he's been slowly working his way north and people fear he may attack our kingdom soon. Well, he won't now.

It takes all night to reach the shrine and we get there in the morning. I lead the pack of skeletons up to the shrine, then hang back when they spot the monster.

The first few skeletons only deal bruises while losing limbs, but more soon arrive.

Eventually, after much punching, the beast is dead. Too bad it's too mangled to reanimate, as it would be a great addition to my horde.

So where to now? After wracking my brain some, I remember there's a dragon's lair a bit to the southeast. So that's where I take the horde next. It takes all day and most of the night, and I arrive a few hour before dawn. I wait until the sun is fully risen before entering the lair.

When the skeletons see the dragon, they charge forward. There is a blast of heat, a cloud of smoke, and I'm gone. The skeletons can take care of it while I sit behind my shield a safe distance away. Bravery is for people who are better warriors than me.

It looks like they aren't doing very well. I'm out, I guess dragons trump skeletons. I lead the remains of the horde out of the entrance and away. I do a quick head count and most of my skeletons are still intact, aside from a few missing arms or legs and one that seems to be nothing but a torso and one skeletal arm. I think there are a few more than 30.

Well, the nearest beasts are further south, so I start walking. And walking. Forever, it seems. I pass a lair full of emaciated men and my skeletons kill them and I reanimate them for reinforcements.

I reach the place I was trying to, the shrine of another titan, don't know the name. It's made of amber and has webs, and apparently is ignored by the undead because it's inorganic. I think you can guess what happened next.

I don't feel like making a fort.

The sulfur slab was cool (i have seen the "was lost in X" messages in legends in the new version, cool to see you found it)
Interesting, you should have hidden it.

I have decided that if i dont finish writeup four i will rp it as being so drunk i dont remember what happened over the last couple days in the tavern in oceanpassage I ended up retiring in) but i might get it written.

It would be rather funny to "learn" that i may have enacted a coup de tat against a local lord and replaced him with my companion but dont remember a thing.

Depends on the fortress, I s'pose.

That having been said, I did place myself under a provisional 1-year deadline back then. Would love to go back and finish what I started; right now it's functional, but rather 'meh'.

I'm gonna put these in with the one Untrusted made. Cause they look pretty sweet :D

And it's Hawkwing and Comito's turns now. Just letting everyone know :D

I kind of want to summit the tall one, but Mel hates nature.. I could find someone who disagrees with me and change my ways though.

You can actually change your own values if you know the trick of talking to yourself.

How do it do? Explanations?

Talk to a creature that can respond, then knock them unconscious. Don't kill them. Keep talking and you can answer yourself. That means you can argue value you don't believe in to yourself, then acquiesce and change your values.

Hey guys, sorry for the delay! Haven't really been feeling the Dwarf Fortress recently. I'll have my turn finished and uploaded tomorrow. I think I'm going to drop out for a little while after that, though.

OK, I've finished my turn. Still alive, it seems. I spawned in a fairly tame portion of the world. Much of this turn was spent traveling to more a more FUN area. I'll post the write-up when I have more time. Also, I went ahead switched over to .42.05.

Here's the link to the save (http://dffd.bay12games.com/file.php?id=11548).

Where is everyone? 42.xx is the best version for adventuring yet, and I was hoping this'd become the next museum or something. Unfortunately, a succession game is only as good as its participation levels I suppose...

The Romantic Empire
Spoiler: Adi Candyshack (click to show/hide)
Spoiler: "Visuals" (click to show/hide)
Spoiler: Personality (click to show/hide)
I swear, I have had it with this town. If one more person tells me to keep away from their kids I WILL EVISCERATE THEM. Yes my name is Candyshack, what of it? I need to get out of this stupid town before I start stabbing someone with this pathetic excuse for a sword.

I head over to The Glorious Strap. It houses The Group of Rubbing. In the Empire of Romance. By Cáccast I hate this place. So much hate. Still they have a ton of extra equipment and I am happy to help them clean up. I get myself decked out in some decent gear, though it is a bit heavy. Maybe I should practice a little…

Spoiler: Ow! No! Stop that! (click to show/hide)
Ow! Ow! God, what is wrong with these people? I only threw a sucker punch at the Lady and they're all trying to stab me now! I throw my arms over my head and run outside. I wait a few minutes for them to calm down, before heading back inside. These people need to take a chill pill.
The Lady is running around in fear, but it seems the guards are chill with me.
“Life is, in a word, Death.”
Spoiler: Wassup Mori? (click to show/hide)

Good to see you too Mori. I ask her to join me on my adventure and she agrees to come with. I think the first step towards not dying is further improving our armor. There’s a dwarvern settlement relatively close, and they might have some steel gear I could use.
Spoiler: Dwarves Ahead (click to show/hide)

I saw some guys hanging around and I decided to talk to them. Mori on the other hand wanted to slice open their guts. The poor axewoman, just out of nowhere Mori charges and cuts her down. Turns out that with all this armor, I can’t even reach the bowman before she cuts him down too. The woman is savage. She also talks in the third person.
Spoiler: Hey there... (click to show/hide)

We have to wait for nightfall to cross the ocean. So I walk around our island talking to travelers to see if there’s anyone Mori won’t stab. She kills three of the four people we run into. The last one I managed to stab.
After crossing the ocean, we see a dwarf. I’ve never seen a dwarf before. I think I want to catch it.
It tries shooting me. Why does everything keep trying to kill me? I just wanted to catch it! I wanted to keep it alive a little longer, but Mori cracks its skull open after it passed out.
I get a little thirsty but it’s nighttime and there’s only ice in the bucket. I lean over and…
I’ve fallen down the well. And I seem to be having a little trouble climbing back out.
***
The villagers decided to pull me out eventually, probably because they didn’t want a corpse fouling their water supply. After almost dying of pneumonia, I’m well enough to head off again.

We run into some dwarves.  Mori charges forth, too fast for my armored self to keep up. She loses a foot by the time I get to her and is unconscious, while the dwarves try killing her, but her Iron Helm does its job well. They are too focused on her and I get in a cheap shot, impaling the spear dwarf’s skull on my sword. The other yields. Pffft, as if.
I follow the poor thing around beating on it and tearing out its eyes. Good practice. Unfortunately I spend a little too much time chasing it around and I lose track of Mori. Her foot is where I last saw her, so I take that, but I can’t find her.

I travel and find a whole encampment of these dwarvern creatures, with what looks to be a pile of ill gotten gains. This was quite the moral quandary. They were clearly not hostile towards me. What would Mori do?
Stab them. Stab them REALLY HARD.

It seems they didn’t really care about the mace dwarf I killed. In fact one wrestler wants to be my ally. I graciously let it accompany me. I kill some of them, and let the rest scatter. I begin wandering as it seems the dwarvern settlements don’t have anything of value.

I thought Onget would be a much more boring companion than Mori.  She’s beginning to grow on me.
Looking for somewhere to go, we hear ominous noises in the night, but unable to find them we flee. Later we see some…hamster people? I listen in on their conversation…
Well screw you guys too! Eat bronze longsword, fur balls! We slay them and I think we’ll take a break in ‘Shaftbreach’ in the ‘Steppe of Hushing’.

Sorry for not noticing earlier, but here it is

So I think I'm gonna give up admining this thread, so anyone who wants to continue it can do so if they wish. Sorry for the very late reply :/

Between then and now I found my way across the bridgefort, accidentally a mule, almost killed myself in the process, ran form lots of bogeymen, killed various megabeasts, bandits, and some kobolds.

Then I found a tower with a familiar looking uh... head, nearby.

This was from the Turn B save on the front page, can call it Turn C unless someone wants to pick it up from Turn B?

I'll write in more but at the moment I just wanted to get it loaded up and whatnot, wasn't sure how long it had been until I checked the first event I did and saw it was 14 days ago.
