I think this be a challenge! None shall rival my dwarven translation powers!

Roughly translated:

"Roads, in the past, split in a yellow forest,
and - because not both the previously mentioned wander"

Question: what does zot mean? It's neither a dwarven word nor a word in KISS.

Also, I know it now. "Two roads diverged in a yellow wood / and sorry I could not travel both / and be one traveler, long I stood / and looked down one as far as I could..." Quite a good poem, if you ask me.

Thus spake Urist Frost.

I'm new to succession forts in general, yes, but do all forts designed by multiple overseers inevitably degenerate into a body-filled labyrinth of chaos and despair like this? Or is this just a Battlefailed thing?

Oh good job, that was quick. Of course, it might not be the same poem throughout ...

Zot
  • VERB        To think, from Dwarfish zotthol, unthinkable.
  • ADVERB    To think about, to consider. Acts as a modal suffix when attached to verbs. Dwarfish lacks the modal would, could, should, etc. and relies on context to differentiate modals.

                    "..Emal tori kán gar legonzot"
                    BECAUSE NOT BOTH REF WANDER.COULD
Because I could not wander both/Because to wander both is unthinkable.

What does írím mean? And where'd that dictionary entry come from?

What does írím mean? And where'd that dictionary entry come from?

As I understand it, verb suffixes synthesize to form complex meanings. So if I want to conjugate a verb for 3rd person plural, I would use both ír and ím.

And now that you mention it, I should probably post the new word I derived so that you have access to the entire lexicon. I've also included a definition for the one other new word I used in the poem, if you haven't figured out its meaning already!

This has been changed slightly from the literal translation, in order to make a little more sense.

"Roads, in the past, split in a yellow forest,
and - because I could not wander
both, and be one wanderer - long I stood,
for a long time I gazed far into the distance
through the taupe bushes to one road-bend;

Äkil enkostori geth gar absh

Shŕm govosan - emal tori nog geth berdanír gar - tori udir

((This is a work in progress, and I am fine with people saying stuff about it, but keep in mind that this is only here so my computer's frequent crashes don't get rid of all my progress.
