That can describe pretty much most populist leaders throughout history. Caesar was quite the able populist. Populism almost always heralded authoritarianism and eventual collapse.

First post on r/socialism, I note that voting for Clinton doesn't make you evil, since the chances of neither Clinton nor Trump winning are basically nil, and while Clinton's worse than Sanders etc., Trump is, you know, Trump.
