((I now realize that most battles and most actions have a pretty obviously 50/50 hit/miss outcome. This is an unfortunate flaw of my D20-inspired system I've been using for multiple games. DC for most actions is 10, and AC for most characters is 10.

Therefore, for at least a few battles, I'm going to be implementing a feature: Terrain Bonus. Since you can choose where to be positioned and what types of attacked to execute, hitting an enemy in a terrain or position that makes it difficult to get to will give you a penalty and vica versa. So for example:

Lasering an enemy without much room to maneuver: +2 to Attack
Lasering an enemy with great range of aerial movement: -2 to Attack
Punching an enemy in front of you: +0 to attack
Punching an enemy falling towards you: -2 to attack
Punching an enemy falling towards you at terminal velocity while on fire: -4 to attack

Think logically! This hopefully will give players more to strategize about.))

((The idea of players arguing the merits of their plan in return for bonuses is extremely appealing to me.))

Ciro: Flail wildly with your laser scapel

Ciro: Throw knife at Goomba, hide under overhanging blocks.

(Roll: 7-4 position) Riltia attempts to headbutt the Paragoomba, but now that her Float spell's worn off, getting to it from where she is proves very difficult. (Attack: 20! 4*2!) You, however, have no such issues. You score a CRITICAL HIT with your Clot Cutter's ranged attack, tearing straight through the remaining Goomba's midsection.

Riltia: Feast on the fire flower. Gain its strength.

Riltia tries to get to the Fire Flower, but the powerup fades as the battle ends.

You're teleported back to the DL2 Market.

Buh-Buh-We're wounded. Buy another refresh potion, drink potion, see if we can stack bottles in our inventory. It is a net gain of five Pence, either way. Getting into another fight now, we'll die. Very quickly. Because we only have three health. Man we need more health, darn squishy mage. We should be a not-squishy blood knight.

If we need to heal, we have the mushroom we won in the battle. No need to wast pence on a refresh potion.

Ciro: Retrieve mushroom from storage, consume it.
