Oh BBC.

The french girl probably has a blue and white striped top on under that sign.

I like that the world map is depicting a bizarro-world where the water is now land and the land is now water. That'd be cool.

Why does Japan have to turn everything into a little girl?

Also, gonna go see Pink Floyd in concert in a few weeks.  Woot.

Wait, like all the surviving members?... Point me to info!

Spoiler: image (click to show/hide)
Subtle racism or graphics design misunderstanding from the BBC? Either way makes me laugh.
My first thought was, "shouldn't those be written in their respective languages?" Then I noticed the hat.

Okay, I saw them on TV, and neither me nor my older family members could tell it's not actually the real guys.  Apparently it's a cover band called The Australian Pink Floyd, but be damned if they're not a good cover band.  Maybe coming to an area near you.

Hmm... would you be okay with him holding the rice?  I didn't think hats were especially popular in China.

Aahhhh ok.  I'm the type of fan who could have a heart attack over stuff like that  :D

Roger Waters is one of two artists I believe to have made deep, lasting impact on who I am.

Quote from: Chesterton
For, in order that men should resist injustice, something more is necessary than that they should think injustice unpleasant. They must think injustice absurd; above all, they must think it startling. They must retain the violence of a virgin astonishment. When the pessimist looks at any infamy, it is to him, after all, only a repetition of the infamy of existence. But the optimist sees injustice as something discordant and unexpected, and it stings him into action.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.
