I was running around, stabbing the peasants as is customary, when an archer shot out one of my teeth. Quite a shot if I say so. For the hell of it I ran up and grabbed my tooth and proceeded to try and eat it. I got this as a message

Eating in general appears to be borked for Adventurers.

I've eaten before. On my first foray into the underground back on April 1st, I found a friendly colony of fishmen and borrowed some of their giant olm haggis, and that was edible. Also slime is drinkable.

I'm trying to figure out what i can get from dead creatures that I can eat. I haven't had problems with thirst though, I can go on the blood of the slain alone. Is there a way to mod it so you (or your race) can only drink blood (and eat flesh/didn't have to eat)? That'd be pretty cool. Can carnivore characters eat raw corpses?

Put the [NO_EAT] tag in the raws. For example if your playing as a human, open "creature_standard.txt" and add that tag under [CREATURE:HUMAN].

I do not believe carnvore characters can eat corpses. I think corpses/bodyparts are just counted as generic objects at the moment. If you want to explore the expansive caverns, you will just have to pack alot of food into one/many backpacks.

I think you can eat vermin if you're starving, I've found one or two down there.
