I am merely waiting for this diplomatic circus to end. It is obvious that the US will not support us any time soon and it will move towards restarting economic relationships with Russia no matter what we do in diplomacy.

War will go on. It will go on for many years. Some formal pauses may happen, but those will be just opportunities for regrouping and resupplying.

I firmly believe that Russia has no resources to capture and control much more than they already have. Even if we lose all international support and our economy collapses and our army degrades to something like the Syrian rebels, taking large cities like Kharkiv will be long, bloody campaigns.

Hope is still the same - some black swan that will make Russia stop the war. War of attrition is a war that we will sloooowly lose while the country becomes a ruin.

Russia-Ukraine Deal Framework
Overview: These terms represent the final offer from the United States to both sides.

Ceasefire

    Permanent ceasefire
Both sides immediately engage in technical implementation negotiations

Ukraine security guarantee

    Ukraine receives robust security guarantee
Guarantor states will be an ad hoc grouping of European states plus willing non-European states
Ukraine will not seek to join NATO
    Ukraine may pursue EU membership

Territory

US provides de jure recognition of Russian control of Crimea
US provides de facto recognition of Russian control of Luhansk
US provides de facto recognition of Russian-controlled parts of Zaporizhzhia, Donetsk, and Kherson
Ukraine regains territory in Kharkiv Oblast
Ukraine regains control of the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant through US control and administration of the plant, with electricity distributed to both sides, and also the Kakhovka Dam
Ukraine enjoys unhindered passage on Dnieper River and control of the Kinburn Spit

Economics

United States and Ukraine will implement economic cooperation/minerals agreement
Ukraine to be fully reconstructed and compensated financially
Sanctions on Russia resulting from this conflict since 2014 will be removed
U.S.-Russian economic cooperation on energy and other industrial sectors

I don't know if I want to cry or to laugh.

Ukraine receives robust security guarantee
Guarantor states will be an ad hoc grouping of European states plus willing non-European states

Robust security guarantees? What the hell is that? Promise "we MAY do something if Russia renews the war?"

Ukraine will not seek to join NATO
But... But you offered robust security guarantees... isn't it just as bad for Russia? Oh, right, the robust security guarantees are toilet paper. NATO didn't reach this status(yet).

Ukraine regains control of the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant through US control and administration of the plant, with electricity distributed to both sides
Ohhh...  We transfer a nuclear plant to de-facto ownership of the US and they will SELL electricity both to Ukraine and to Russia. Art of the fucking deal, indeed.

United States and Ukraine will implement economic cooperation/minerals agreement
I expect more of art of the deal bullshit here

Ukraine to be fully reconstructed and compensated financially[i/]
With what money? Also, does it mean that money will be poured into Russian-occupied areas? Those are the ones with the most devastation.

Sanctions on Russia resulting from this conflict since 2014 will be removed
U.S.-Russian economic cooperation on energy and other industrial sectors

Hahahahahahaha. Ha! Trump really needs some excuse to do this, right?

Another Russian general has been killed. I his car just outside of Moscow. Jaroslav Moskalik, considered to be one of the most influential officers in Russia was blown to smithereens by a car bomb. Good job, Ukrainian intelligence, or good job, Russian infighting.

I hope that "deal" gets rammed into Trump's mouth and he suffocates on it.

"Ukraine regains control of the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant through US control and administration of the plant, with electricity distributed to both sides, and also the Kakhovka Dam"

Considering that the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant is currently under Russian control and largely on the front lines, I wonder much about this provision.
...I'm afraid it's likely to be US troops deployed to protect the Russians from Ukraine, knowing the Trump administration's preferences.
