Draining cavern pools
« on: March 04, 2015, 08:15:17 am »

My magma piston project is being hampered by the bad placement of the cavern pools. So I'm draining them by carving fortifications into the edge of the map and letting them run off it.

Except... some of my cavern pools are DIRECTLY adjacent to the map edge - no walls between the water and the edge. Will the pools refill from off the side of the map?

they will refill. just cut off the water supply by building a bridge at the edge of the map and then drain the pool as usual

How do I build a bridge where the water is 7/7?

From what I've read (haven't tried it myself) it would be either draining through a hole in the floor or with pumps.
