In the spring of year 152, dwarves established the fortress Minehelp at the mouth of a small river. It was at the intersection of three areas, terrifying tropical grassland in the north, untamed wild tropical shrubland in the west, and joyous wild tropical ocean in the east and the south. There were thin layers of light aquifer in both soil and rock level. Dwarves found the first and the second cavern in the spring and the summer. On the surface, the murky ponds slowly dried out. The dwarves had brought 30 ducks. They ate egg biscuits and drank plump helmet wine, working on a fortress safely underground. It was an easy task, but Sazir lagged behind when they were returning to the fortress. A giant rattlesnake killed Sazir. Adil turned back and killed the snake. Two other dwarves hauled the giant snake back and butchered the corpse. A microcline slab for Sazir was set up in an empty coal mine.
Dwarves dug out more tunnels to explore the caverns and built drawbridges at every entrance. This took a lot of time. The third cavern and magma sea were discovered in the winter. Three rutherers were captured and tamed. A gremlin was spotted and ran away. River water was taken from the surface through a tunnel into a rock chamber. The muddied chamber were then planted with plump helmet.
